Stream The Dead Weather's WOXY Takeover Sets

Jack White's new band, THE DEAD WEATHER, played two exclusive DJ Sets earlier this week. He was joined by bandmates Alison Mosshart (The Kills), Dean Fertita (QOTSA) and Cincinnati's own Jack Lawrence (Greenhornes, Raconteurs). They played music from their own bands, from bands they like and even previewed music from their new Horehound CD. If you missed it, you can stream 'em on-demand right here. Tell a buddy, bring a friend, 'cuz you won't here this anywhere but on WOXY.com.

Hmm... Looks like this will either be done live from the Washington DC area or else it's pre-recorded?

The Dead Weather are playing shows on Monday and Tuesday in the DC area, so I'm thinking it's not feasible for them to be broadcasting out of Longworth Hall on those days?

And yes, I can't wait to hear this as well. Definitely something to look forward to for early next week!

Although I don't like most of the music from the bands represented in Dead Weather. I still think the music is influential and think this "takeover" is pretty cool. I'll try to tune in.

No way I can listen during those times. Will it be available for podcast?

What a fantastic coup. I love that Dead Weather song you've been spinning too.

Looking foward to it.

And for more woxy awesomeness, international style, the Futurist is offering tickets to the Doves/Answering Machine show in Manchester (UK). That's just terribly cool, even if it's not directed at me.

Bump! So far so good! "The fine people at WOXY have let us take over the station for the next hour." ...... fine people!?!? Did Shivvy leave the room or something??

On a somewhat-related note: man, I really wish that when there's special shows like this one there could still be the track-by-track details in the "Now Playing" box.... especially when DJack White doesn't give us the info! I know it would be a total pain to rig up, but sometimes it just kills me.
