anyone have any luck with a wireless card for RH Linux? i got a SMC pcmcia card that does not seem to register with my RH 8 box. or help in getting this thing to work would be great too.

I'm guessing you've already consulted these sites:

Pretty good resources. I've never set up a wifi card under Linux but from what I've read, picking a card with the right chipset is key. Then again, it's sometimes impossible to determine what particular chipset a card contains.

right, i just took a shot in the dark with this $20 card from microcenter. no drivers on their website so i went searching and found another driver that was said to work. after much searching and a bit of help from a linux user group message board in md i figured it out. even had to compile the right driver for me kernel, oooooooo. started using this system since the last mac update was crap on networking (they have even pulled the update from their site), apple better get off their butts and fix that sucker before i get inclined to stay with linux.
