aspiring network techie don't know sh*t

here's my dilemma, i live in germany. i have dsl (t-online), but can only have one computer connected to the net at one time (two pc's currently, looking for more). so i bought a linksys 4 port router (model befsr41 if that helps) and fed all the t-online account info into that beast. now two comps are on at the same time.

one pc runs XP home (the wife's) and one runs XP pro (mine), and i cannot get these two to network. also using zone alarm on each system in conjunction with the firewall built into the router. if anyone feels they can help me figure this whole thing out through e-mail conversation, please help. i will beg, i will even bear your children (if it were biologically possible that is).

i emptied out my junk mail folder first thing this morning, then read you reply on the board here. if you already e-mailed me, then i dumped it with the trash. sorry. but i do appreciate the help.
