View Full Version : How do I suggest a band's music that I'm not a part of?

Okay, so I was browsing the site and found plenty of info on submitting my bands songs to the WOXY for possible airplay. However, since I am not a member of a band this is kind of irrelevant for me (though it's awesome that the info is there). I was just curious to see if there was a way to suggest other artists for playtime on the station, which I have nothing to do with other than that I think listeners would like to hear 'em. Most of these bands are very low profile, so requests won't do the trick -- the WOXY probably doesn't have the CD's for at least some of em. Any suggestions from the higher powers out there?

But I play one on TV

Okay, that's a lie.

Don't underestimate the station. They've got stuff nobody else does.

If they happen to *not* have the band though, try contacting the band and getting them to submit stuff. I don't know, that seems to make sense, at least to me =)

Don't underestimate your fellow board members either. Lots of these people listen to stuff that nobody has ever heard of (In the good way, I assure you)

Oh I realize. I've been listening to this station for about four years now..... just haven't posted here at the boards much at all. Some of these bands, though are just really, really obscure. And, even if the WOXY did have 'em, chances that they would play the request would be very slim, unless like 50 other people happened to request the same song the same day. I've thought of contacting the artists, but for some of them this really wouldn't work because either A) they don't exist anymore or B) they live somewhere like Peru and I have no way of contacting them, because they don't even have a web site. Maybe I'm crazy. I'll just put a (very short) random list below to see if anybody has even heard of any of these people/bands.

Chabelos
Bobbo
Tony Fox NYC (or just Tony Fox)
Leuzemia
Libido
Mar de Copas
