i can't believe there wasn't a sonic youth thread already.

everyone must be planning to keep their cash and see us instead.

we're having a 'sonic youth after-party' across the street at sudsy's.

we start as soon as they stop.

it's..

sundresses (http://datawaslost.net/123/Sundresses-Universe_Universe.mp3)
coltrane motion (http://datawaslost.net/motion/Coltrane_Motion-Supersexy67.mp3)
a secret safe (http://datawaslost.net/123/A_Secret_Safe-Magic_Lamp.mp3)

click the names for some mp3s.

yeha.

It was FRIDAY right after 1 that the interview aired.

And the Sonic Youth show? A-fucking-mazing.

if you missed it, then... your loss.

Sonic Youth were amazing! I saw them at coachella a couple months back also and thought they could'nt top that performance but bogarts was a fine fine show. I really wish they would've played at the southgate though, it just has a better atmosphere. We met them after the show and they were really cool people!
Quick question: I got all of them to sign a shirt I had bought there does anyone know of a spray or something (?) that will permanetely keep the Sharpie ink on the shirt after washings....I want to wear it but I won't if it means losing the autographs from one of the finest bands in rock history.

oh holy crap, that was my first time seeing them and my socks were firmly and completly rocked off...one question, does anyone have a setlist, i'm still a bit frazzled and it has completely slipped my mind...wow

2 fucking encores!

The crowd was great (except for the asshole who hit that girl), the band was really on, and the sound was good. Kim looked so beautiful.

It's amazing that they can jam with feedback and be fun to listen to, and you gotta love all the gear (imagine being a SY roadie...).

Highlights were:
Karen Revisited (my favorite song from Murray Street)
Bull in the Heather
Radical Adults Lick Godhead Style

Which song was it when all those dumb kids started moshing? And how'd the SY after-show go?

afterparty went great.

the sundresses & secret safe are two of my favorite bands here in town.. it was a blast being able to play with them, for a crowd with some new faces coming over from bogarts.

if you haven't downloaded those mp3s yet, you should.. both really crazy original stuff.

anyway, i'm done gushing. good show.

man, kim really did look so lovely in that white dress, and it was nice to see thurston swinging his guitar around like like a teenager rockin' out. they haven't aged a bit in my book.

:D

a grande show, and i'm glad i got to see them play a full set instead of just opening for wilco.

How was the opening act...I am interested in hearing more about them and am very sad I missed this show (in Columbus and in Cinti).

the reason is that this band features members of autoclave. autoclave were on dischord and they KICKED ASS. quix*o*tic bored me to death.... i thought that chalk would have made a perfect opener...

"sounds as if ye olde Readymaid shouldve opened for Sonic Youth! "

while that would have kicked ass beyond belief, i think we would have been thoroughly embarassed and blown off the stage in our current state. i agree with sammy that chalk would have been a great opener.
