Okay, the comic geek fiance of mine can't wait for me to get out of work to go see it so is at the theatre right now with his brother. But, I wanted to create a spot for folks who've seen it to post their thoughts on it...so I'm prepared for when I finally get to see it...

Never was a big Hulk fan. I'll wait 'til it comes out on video.

the more often i saw the trailer, the cheesier it looked to me but it's an ang lee film so i've got some hope for it...

well, i'll be honest-- Hulk was LONG. honestly, the showtime was 3:15 and i'm sure there was 15 min of previews, and we walked out of the theater at 10 til 6!

my butt fell asleep b/c we were at the showcase across from the dayton mall, and i've become spoiled with the good seats at the AMC theaters in columbus.

i loved the direction & cinematography, but got bored with the story. i wasn't convinced by jennifer connelly's performance, despite her good looks, but i thought that the guy who played bruce banner was awesome, as was sam elliott, and nick nolte was good too. the way that lee directed the film was awesome--some of the boxes on screen were very cool and helped keep it feeling like a comic...

the cg of the hulk left something to be desired for me-- i felt like they could have done a better job on him. but like candyass said (i saw the movie w/ her and my fiance) the cameos of stan lee & lou ferrigno at the beginning were worth the price of admission.

if you're not a huge fan, wait for video/dvd...you'll be able to take bathroom breaks & seventh inning stretches... you might need 'em if you've got the ADD like i do. :)

Good, not great. Entertaining & worth seeing, but you can wait for the video and not fret too much about the wait.

I'm in love with Jennifer Connelly -- beautiful, classy woman. The newcomer-dude who played the Hulk did a good job. I absolutely hated Nick Nolte's character. Just hated it -- a sub-par, tedious Charlie Manson impersonation.

Ang Lee's direction was good -- insterted some artsy stuff in there but still kept enough comic-book flair that it didn't seem like Crouching David Banner, Hidden Hulk.

And yeah, a little long.

Rating: 2.9/5.0

I feel asleep during one of the "talkie" bits. Based on the reviews from the friends I went with, I think this nap enhanced my appreciation for the film. But, man, it was all over the place.

My fiance said it was good but parts of it just plain dragged. He loved the action sequences but thought the talkie bits bored him more often than not. He was drooling over Jennifer Connoley but wouldn't admit it...

who WOULDN'T drool over Jennifer Connelly?!?

btw the cat who plays Banner is Aussie actor Eric Bana, who's good friends with Hugh Jackman(Wolverine)
you comic geeks should get the connection there...

saw the movie and it was cool,it certainly doesn't have a "happy ending" but then again,Mean Green ain't a happy boy.

I saw the Hulk Friday night...late show. I even took a nap before I got there and still dozed off. Here's a quick overview of what I thought:

Ang Lee- Good job with incorporating the comic panels.
Eric Bana-a little too stiff, reminded me a little of Norman Bates.
Hulk-got passed the CGI considering he was more sympathic and human than Bana's portrayal of Banner.
Jennifer Connelly-Good as always, but not much chemistry between her and Bana
Nick Nolte-did well, but did remind me a little of Charlie Manson, too.
Sam Elliot-Great! I didn't even recognize him until half way through the movie.

The story line was good, but a bit too long (10-20 minutes). The final fight scene was neat, but a little too dark. I think it'll take a second viewing to appreciate the movie more, but i'll wait until it's on video.

I saw a thing on the Sci-Fi channel about the Hulk movie. Apparently, Ang Lee was the Hulk. Since he knew how he wanted the Hulk to feel onscreen, he used the motion-capture suit, and acted all the Hulk's scenes. That way, it was easier for hime to "direct" the Hulk.

Sounds more and more like it may be decent...

I thought it was excellent. It was the most comic-book-feeling movie I have ever seen. Rather than being a movie based off a comic book (Superman, Batman, even Spider-Man, etc.), to me it actually FELT like a Hulk comic book told in movie form. And it's a different turn for a comic movie... you don't have a superhero here... you have a guy who gets pissed off and turns into a giant green monster. That's it! Pure entertainment... and Ang Lee was a perfect choice for director. I plan on going to see it again in the theatre, because it was so fun... even IF my bladder was about to explode 15 minutes before the movie ended. Oh yeah, and that Velvet Revolver song RAWWWKS.

that was the best part of the movie.

I'll deem it as cool eye candy but rentable fodder at best. The story was weak in my opinion. Maybe if Banner's father mutated self was introduced a little earlier in the movie might have improved the storyline?

The fight with the giant poodle was worth the price of admission. Dudeman, you are bang on with the Charles Manson reference for Nolte, really over the top, long winded and embarrassing. Don't get why everyone thinks Jennifer Connelly is the cat's potato though; Kinda like a young Kate Jackson. I did like the comic book cinematography.
