Apperently G. Dubya Bush has some how been nominated for the noble peace prize. This blows my mind that a man can just declare a war under false pretenses then be given an award for peace.
so here is a link that is petitioning giving Bush/ blair the peace prize. I don't know how much validity or pull this site actually has, but its definatley worth saying Bush doesn't the noble at all.*

nearly all presidents get nominated by some yahoo or another. doesnt mean anything.
Jimmy Carter won the Noble this year (I forget the category). So if it's recent it is quite bogus.

Nobel. Arafat has won the thing....the Nobel Peace Prize is a joke regardless of your feelings for Bush.

Yep. You have to admit, there is a certain special irony about nominating Bush and Blair after they started a war, though. But the big sweet one is right--once a fargin' terrorist has recieved a "Peace Prize," it's credibility pretty much ceases to exist anyway.
(I think it would be much more appropriate to submit Mr. Bush's name as a candidate for the Nobel Prize in Literature, citing his many rich contributions to the English language. What do you all think of that strategery?)

people are awarded some prizes for what they did at a given time, not who they are, what they WILL do, or what they DID do previously.
Arafat was granted the prize for his efforts in peace, which have since proved futile, but where apparent and earnest at the time.
I could nominate BS for a peace prize, there are people you couldn't think of being nominated, because it really doesn't take much effort to get someone on that ballot.
Just another award show for the most popular person competition.
