i've been asked to take over booking at pleasant perk, the coffeehouse in pleasant ridge across from everybody's records. i'm looking to bring in some different and interesting musicians in to play over the summer and fall.

we're a smaller coffeehouse - we can hold about 30-40 people, so it's a very intimate thing. i'd love to see some local rocknroll types play stripped down sets a la unplugged. also ideal for those trying out new material or looking to play solo shows minus a big band.

i can discuss pay, promotion and other things over email. drop me a line if you'd like to book for june and beyond. my email is sadgirl7@fuse.net. you can also drop off a kit with some kind of demo at pleasant perk - 6105 montgomery road. if you have a website with mp3s, that's fine in lieu of a demo.

thanks! :)

you should advertise on these boards if you haven't already:

http://www.neussubjex.net/bored (only put it in "MISC SPAM"; the mods are very strict about that...)

thanks for the suggestion. i've already posted at cincymusic. i don't think the punks in this town really care about coffeehouse gigs, but maybe i'll give that a try, too.

actually, most of the people who post there aren't punks, but indie & guitar rock fans (and a smattering of straight edgers).

ah. i'll give it a try. since we're having fotos and spectacular fantastic in to play, maybe some folks over there will be interested.

thanks for the heads-up. :)

sad one

I'd cosider holding off booking October in May.

Booking that far in advance is a good way to get stuck with something that was hot half a year ago while other venues showcase the fresh and new.

You also won't be able to anticipate what you're booking against.

that's very true. i hadn't thought of it that way! i think i'll stop with the beginning of september for now...heh.

thanks for the advice, dan! you rule.

Yeah, not only that, but you're going so fast and efficiently that you'll have the whole year booked before our lead singer gets back from vacation! And since I think he would be interested in a fall date there (solo or with a stripped down band--instruments, not outerwear), I'll pass you're info along to him when he gets back. And I'll spread the word too.
