I have no idea what I'm talking about. I've been told I should check the show out, but I can't make myself do it.

My wife made me watch that cistern of a show last night.

I don't know who she is, but she died. And might I add, she took a hella' long time to croak. I kept pissing my wife off by randomly saying, "Why don't you die already" throughout the show.

My friend made me tape it for her last night, so I figured it might be worth a coupla laughs to check it out. It was so friggin' horrible that I didn't make it past the first 3 minutes. They all coulda died last night and I would be fine with that.

...me too. The messier the death, the better.

OK. I'll post the unpopular opinion. I LIKE Dawson's Creek and I'm sad it's over. I didn't force him or anything, but my fiance watched the entire 2 hours show with me last night. He didn't complain once and only made one or 2 smart ass remarks. Generally he thinks Dawson's Creek is swill, but he didn't seem to mind last night's ep.
And yes, I'll have to admit that it got to me last night. very sad in a melodramatic DC sort of way.

i used to watch Dawson's Creek back in the day when it first started but have only watched a hew episodes here and there for years. Lately, I've found it to be pretty unbearable. Still, I'm curious, how the hell did Jen die?? And did Joey marry someone?

OK. Here's the update. Last night's episode was apparently taking place 5 years into the future. Jen had gotten knocked up by a boyfriend who then deserted her, so she was raising her child alone. Her daughter was supposed to be about a year old in last night's episode. To make a long story short, she had been diagnosed with a severe heart defect that only became noticeable during her pregnancy. They thought they could control it with medication, but it got worse, and in last night's episode, she died. Jack was the godfather, so he decided to raise Jen's child. Jack is dating Pacey's brother, Doug, who, surprise, really was gay after all.
The wedding you saw in the previews was Dawson's mom's wedding. Joey did choose Pacey in the end, and they were living together in NYC, but not yet married. Joey and Dawson told each other they would always love each other. Dawson had developed a successful teen soap based on their lives in Capeside (yes, exactly like DC). Audrey was supposedly touring Europe as a backup singer for John Mayer.
I think those were the major plot points.

Okay, I've heard of this Dawson guy and John Mayer. Other than that, totally friggin' lost.

My wife watched it last night and as I walked through the family room last night, I heard the girl say, "I don't wanna wait for our lives to be over...".
That's the only line I heard and I thought, "how corny."
That's just been my opinion of the show. Had I ever watched it, I may have felt differently, so I don't know how good of a show it was. I generally stay away from primetime soap-esque shows, but my wife actually dragged me into liking Felicity for a while. Of course it's easier to watch a show when all the girls in it are HOT. It's kinda like a J-Lo movie. I'll sit through a corny plot just so I can see [Insert your favorite Sir Mix A Lot quote here].

it's gotta be a tough choice ya know? who is the bigger cheesedick, Pacey or Dawson? I, for one, can't figure it out.

STOP DISSIN' THE CREEK!!!!!
Ahem, sorry -- I kinda lost it there for a sec.
Okay, I guess I'm in the minority w/Red bobsled, as I used to dig this back in the day. I hadn't seen it for probably the last couple of years, until they announced it was ending. Since then I watched a few of the most recent episodes to understand what was going on as it ended.
The finale was actually pretty good. Okay, it was way too long and they could have fit it into an hour instead of 2, but I thought it was interesting the way they set it in the future so you could see what happened. I think it sort of morphed into Joey's Creek instead of Dawson's Creek somewhere in there when I wasn't watching, because she was clearly the central character. I guess Dawson was just too boring to carry the load, so she stepped up. I like the Audrey character too, for three reasons: 1) she was on Freaks & Geeks and did a guest appearance on Undeclared, 2) she's got spunk and stirs the pot, and 3) she has one of the coolest names ever -- Busy Phillips

Yeah, I was a fan too. It's the end of an era, one that was beginning to suck during the last couple seasons. I knew it was beginning to go downhill when they pulled out all the bells and whistles- Busy Phillips, Jack Osbourne cameos, Oliver Hudson, No Doubt....
Was anyone else bothered by the fact that Joey's irritating professor played Todd the rapist on One Life to Live back in the day? When he first came on, I knew I didnt like him for a reason, then I figured out who he was...
I'm sorta glad Joey & Pacey ended up together, but I thought for sure Dawson was gonna be the one that croaked.

Holy shit! I knew he looked familiar! But that didn't bother me as much as the endless bicker/ banter... although, that was always a constant on that show.
I will admit that I did care who Joey chose and I was glad it wasn't Dawson. I am also glad that my viewing of this episode coincides with the memory of scrubbing cat vomit off my radiator. And I promise I will refrain from mentioning that little incident a third time.

First off--no Todd Manning bashing here. Sad to see him leave OLTL yet again to go to another soap and to do Dawson's Creek (I guess this little passage admits to my constant watching of OLTL--guilty pleasure).
Now, back to this terrible show. Lately, they've been showing 4 hrs. of the show in the mornings on TBS, and usually since I've already seen SportsCenter (since it's played 20 times in the morning), I usually just kept this on in the background. After seeing enough bits from all the seasons, as well as the final episode (reruned the day after on TBS as well), I still don't know why I let myself even pollute my eyes and ears w/ this drivel. No teens ever talk like that, and hell--if anybody saw The Daily Show last week w/ Josh Jackson on it, you heard him pretty much bash the show. That's bad when one of the main characters was sick of the show and admits to it being a piece of trash. Thank god it's over.

Rather than watch the show, a couple of months ago, I spent 20 minutes online reading episode capsules for the entire series. I feel like I pretty much got it all.....

yeah the characters of dawson's creek talked in long paragraphs with the self-realization and insight of a fifty year old. being extremely clever and articulate isn't what's unrealistic to me, it's the ridiculous maturity level.
the only good thing about dawson's creek was monica keena who played abby morgan. she's fierce.

Ok so...guess I am in the minority here. But I admit that back in the day I was quite a fan. I have not seen the show in a while but I did catch the second finale. It was to long but I did bawl my eyes out. Sad but true. I am pleased that Joey and Pacey ended up together. Dawson always came across as such a sap. (ha ha..like I should talk!)
