I'm really digging the Subaru commercial with Lance Armstrong that plays the intro of Jon Spencer Blues Explosion's "Bellbottoms" everytime that comes on I gotta turn it up!

I like all of those cotton commercials. It's weird though, that a plant gets its own commercial. I know one plant I'd like to see in commercials more often ;)

...And we have our Quote of the Day winner right here. Thanks for playing, folks!

When I was a kid, I remember a commercial that cracked me up. It was a Sea Breeze (?) commercial where people would step into a puddle, but it must have been 6 feet deep and they fell completely into it. Anyone remember those?

I especially liked the Super Bowl E-Trade ad that showed a monkey or something and it said something like, "We just blew a million dollars. What are you doing with your money?"

lately, it's this (http://home.attbi.com/~bernhard36/honda-ad.html). it's a must-watch, mofos. no tinkering, no manipulation or computer-generated bullshit. took them something like 306 tries to get the whole thing in one take.

i just watched the honda ad 3 times!! :) i haven't seen that on TV yet, but it rocked socks. :)

i don't have a favourite ad right now, although i do like the VW ad where the guy calls himself from the future and says, "when you meet becky, run."

(i'm a rebecca but my folks still call me becky, so i get excited over little things.)

Naw, it took 'em 606 tries to get it. I don't think we'll get that commercial here, though. We don't get the sweet Accord wagon, and our attention spans are too short.

The ad I was going to post is no longer up. It's a Bridgestone tire commercial from Thailand. It used to be here (http://ww0.adforum.com/creative_archive/2002/AW16/reel_detail.asp?id=28797&tdi=VDet87tR). I pulled the MPEG out of my IE cache, though, and I'm sharing it on Kazaa under the imaginative filename "Thai Bridgestone Tire Ad." Some other people might be sharing it as well. It's funny, yet also shocking and kind of touching.

i like that one, too, PF. i always loved the zest commercial with "the clean, fresh scent of Bob." mostly the part at the end where that latina maid takes a big whiff of him in the elevator and says whimsically "hellooooooooo." love it.

That one takes the prize. I thought the tires had been rigged, but , as it turns out, they were weighted inside to make them go uphill. I liked this quote from the Telegraph story..
The idea for the advert derived partly from the old children's game Mouse Trap, and from the wacky engineering of Caractacus Potts's breakfast-making machine in the Sixties film Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.

someone else i know said "fuck that - foghorn leghorn's been doing that shit for decades." it reminded me of the opening scene of pee-wee's big adventure.

ha! foghorn leghorn. that guy rules.
i love nearly ALL vw and gap commercials. like that one vw commercial where there is a car full of kids, i think it's the one with pink moon playing, and they pull up to a party, all look at one another, then drive away. i love that.

The Jim Breur/Randy Johnson "Dodge Ball" X-Treme Sports deodorant commercial just had us rolling around with laughter. That's a good one.

I saw one for a product called Osteo BiFlex where Frankenstein's monster talks about how taking it loosens his joints up while they show a montage of him doing things like Tai Chi, gardening and playing a banjo for a classroom of small children. Hillarious. :D
