Oh, yeah, France (http://www.cnn.com/2003/ALLPOLITICS/04/15/sprj.irq.bush.france/index.html) , baby!
First we invade Iraq and the price of oil goes down. Then we take over France and Bordeaux and Brie will be dirt cheap. It's all so clear now!
I can't believe I didn't see this coming. I haven't felt this dumb since I was surprised by the ending of Sixth Sense.

Speaking of France -- I found this amusing:
French Still Can’t Pass Go in Kosovo
The London-based power couple of Christianne Amanpour and Jamie Rubin were among those who jetted across the Atlantic to attend a DC screening of the documentary The Fall of Milosevic.
Despite the serious nature of the film, there was a bit of comic relief for the audience, which included former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright, at the Holocaust Memorial Museum.
The laughter came when the film showed an interview with French President Jacques Chirac talking about the international community’s intervention in Kosovo at the end of the Clinton administration.
“I said to President Clinton that any military intervention in a civilized world required a green light—a request and an agreement—from the United Nations Security Council,” Chirac said.
This brought a roar of laughter. After several minutes of footage of the carnage in Kosovo, the film returned to Chirac. The audience rippled again with laughter as Chirac told the camera, “I said to Tony Blair: ’We must make one last attempt to negotiate a political solution.’ ”

OK, forget France. I want Italy to go down now.
US forces captured terrorist Abu Abbas, the mastermind of the 1985 Achille Lauro cruise ship hijacking. Now, Italy wants to extradite him. Italy let him go in '85, what do you think they'll do now? Idiots.

Due, (yes, I read your message. I still love you.) it is the cover of the Afghan Whigs album "Black Love". I think we need to have a thread explaining some people's av's. There's some interesting ones out there. IPFS's is intriguing. And Miss Kitty's is just too cute.

I voted no one under the current admin. I hope Bush doesn't have enough credibility left to attack anyone.
Isolated incidents like Somalia don't count.

Isolated incidents like Somalia don't count.Time will tell if it becomes an invasion or not. We have troops on the ground, involved in the conflict...
When does it count?

Good question.
Do we have troops on the ground? I thought this was a hit and run operation. When it counts, I guess, is when we have to focus active duty troops to an area on a consistent basis. We did the same in Pakistan but I would not consider us in an active military campaign against Pakistan.

I think it would certainly count when it takes an act of congress to endorse the military activity, but that would likely be the least inclusive of criteria.
