...is that they showed a trailer for Matrix Reloaded beforehand. I was pretty stoked -- this looks really cool.
Now, getting back to Anger Management... I would say that it was a disappointment, but I had read a couple of reviews about it and it was pretty much in line with those, meaning it was mediocre. (I know, I shouldn't have wasted my time, but it was the consensus pick of the friends I wuz wit).
The premise of the movie is actually pretty good (relatively speaking). This should have been a lot better, considering the cast. But you can only do so much with a mediocre script and an utterly hackneyed ending.
The best scene of the movie was when Adam Sandler got into a fight with a monk (John C Reilly). Jack Nicholson had his moments, but he basically called-in his performance. Also, he looks almost as old and craggy as Clint Eastwood. Adam Sandler has had a few movies where he proved he could do more than Waterboy fare, but this was a (bad) reversion to form.
Don't waste your time. May be worth a rental when it comes out if there's not much else doing any particular evening, but that's about all I can say for it. There were quite a few surprise cameos, but it served little other purpose than putting perfume on the pig.
