I don't know how long this one's been out, but I've been reading about it for a while, and it just surfaced at best buy. Critics have hailed chesnuTT's brand of soul/rap/rock/ misc. as genius. Unless you dig everything put in front of you, DO NOT BUY THIS. yes, the seed is sweet, yes " look good in leather" made me giggle, and yes, my women my guitars is also bad. chesnutt should've quit there. this album does not warrant a double disc, and 3/4 of this shit should've been scrapped. lots of good ideas ( plenty of nothing, michelle) that hint at greatness, but this cd is like the sneeze that goes away. leaves you feeling stupid and red faced with your mouth open. just puttin it out there. if you can listen to the whole thing, then maybe blow fifteen bucks.

Respectfully disagree, this record is really good if you get past the lo-fi aspect. There's tons of different styles going on that showcase his songwriting skills. It reminds me of Terrence Trent D'Arby somewhat. Considering it was recorded in his bedroom, it's really a good album.

no qualms with the lo-fi aspect. that was part of the albums saving graces. i loved the way he would go horribly out of tune and not give a shit. i guess i was just duped by SPIN again. plus, as far as my own tastes go, their are too many " bitches, niggas and big black dicks" on the album
