Queens of the Stone Age. Made my ears bleed. I actually blew out a woofer in my car, I think, because they had their 1st song play in mono for a little bit, then in comes the screaming.

I was gonna' say the exact same thing. I had that dang thing turned way up the first time I listened to it because I thought something was wrong with the CD. The music kicked in and scared the shit out of my son playing right next to the speakers. I guess I'd better start saving for a hearing aid for the little guy...lord knows my hearing is too far gone. I'm learning to read lips and sign language.

QOTSA seriously kicks ass.

This station doesn't really play a lot of hardcore or heavy rock.
They will play QOTSA and Audioslave but you can hear those on the Clear Channel alt-rock stations as well, so I'm not sure there's a lot of heavy stuff here that you can't hear elsewhere. QOTSA does rock though.

How about Sparta, At the Drive-in, Rocket from the Crypt, Sleater-Kinney, . . . And You Will Know Us by the Trail of Dead?

Been on Butter's "List of Albums to Buy ASAP" for several months now. Butter lacks funds. Butter is sad. Butter pout now.

I'll throw in a big "hell yeah" on QOTSA, and if you dig them check out their precursor, Kyuss. It is serious stoner rock and meant to be played LOUD!

You may also want to check out Monster Magnet, Sleep, Fu Manchu, Clutch, Corrosion of Conformity, Terminal Cheesecake, Soundgarden (circa BadMotorFinger), The Melvins...

well, that's a good start, anyway.

Burning Brides.

Dead Meadow (more "heavy" than hard).

Quicksand is one of my faves too! Also check out Rise Against, Cursive, Red Animal War, Refused, Rival Schools (not so new project from the singer of Quicksand), Burning Airlines, Jawbreaker and Jawbox. I think that's a good list.

The Catheters and The Datsuns are both pretty loud and raucous.

I'll second the votes for Quicksand and Rival Schools.
