Chinese Democracy To Be Released ... By The Offspring

The Offspring have done the dirty on Guns 'n' Roses. They have nicked the 'Chinese Democracy' title for their next album.

Last month Undercover reported a tongue in cheek statement from The Offspring suggesting they would call their next album 'Chinese Democrazy', a tongue in cheek reference to the long overdue Gunners album.

The initial statement from The Offspring lead to legal action from Axl but it would appear Axl has no legal grounding to base his suit. As he has never released his 'Chinese Democracy' legally it doesn't exist. As it doesn't exist it cannot be trademarked and as it is not trademarked he cannot sue The Offspring.

"You snooze, you lose" says Dexter Holland at the Offspring website. "Axl Rose ripped-off my braids, so I ripped-off his album title 'Chinese Democracy'.

'Chinese Democracy' (The Offspring version) was recorded in Los Angeles with Brendan O'Brien producing. It follows up their last record 'Conspiracy of One'.

I can't stand The Offspring's music, but they're pretty funny. This is a great idea. I saw one of them a while back with a T-shirt that read "Even Jesus hates Creed" or something along those lines.
