OH YEAH!!
I've seen the trailer a couple of times (though it's been a while) and it looks AMAZING! Perfectly mysterious and creepy. I can't wait to see this one.
For Cusack fans - John has a "rain" scene in this one as well. :)

I thought this looked great, too, when I saw the trailer when I went to see the Quiet American (great film, btw).
Below's a synopsis from Rotten Tomatoes. Sounds a little like Agatha Christy's 10 Little Indians.
SYNOPSIS
One night in the middle of the desert a violent rainstorm has isolated a lone motel when all roads and phone communication are washed out. Eventually a group of 10 stranded strangers will congregate at the ramshackle motel and discover to their horror that they are being murdered one-by-one.
Or they think they are. What is real might not be and as their unseen assailant methodically eliminates them, they frantically look for connections to a jigsaw puzzle that is making a mockery of everything they know to be logical and sane.
Ed (John Cusack) a former cop turned limo driver for an actress (Rebecca DeMornay); Rhodes (Ray Liotta) a corrections officer transporting a convict (Jake Busey); Paris (Amanda Peet) a hooker leaving her past; Larry (John Hawkes) the motel owner with something to hide; Ginny (Clea DuVall) and Lou (Will Lee Scott) a troubled couple and the York family (John C. McGinley, Leila Kenzle and Bret Loehr) who come to the motel in need of medical attention after an accident on the highway are those marooned in "I.D." a psychological-thriller directed by James Mangold, produced by Cathy Konrad and written by Michael Cooney.

I saw Identity at a screening in October. And, unless they've revamped quite a bit, it's not a great movie. But maybe they did revamp it because it didn't seem to test all that well at the screening I was at. Really disappointing actually. Considering how much I love John Cusack.
But, you can always go see it and judge for yourself.
I personally saw the "big plot twist" coming a mile away.

Going to see IDENTITY tonight.
I'm afraid that it won't be able to live up to the hype in my head...but, it will still be fun to see a scary/thriller type movie at 23:00. If for no other reason, I know I'll have fun watching my boyfriend squirm.

I hate to be the one to burst bubbles....but this movie was very bad.
Very, very bad.
I wanted my money back and I saw it for free (during a sneak preview on Wednesday). It made my head hurt. Really. It did.
It starts out really cool. 10 Little Indians style, like DudeMan says. That snyposis sets it up perfectly. 10 great well cast, different, interesting characters. I love John Cusak. Ray Liota? Great! Jake Busey, Rebeccca Demornay, Amande Peet...I dig 'em all. They are all being picked off one by one. Sure, it's a little trite and done before, but it's intense and cool. What is the connection? What's goin on? Who's got the style?
Then comes the plot twist. The very confusig, convuluted, ridiculous, "let's try to make this movie so different" plot twist. One might argue the worst plot twist of all time.
Very Very Bad Movie. With a very very bad second half. (sorry)

Okay, to add to Phil's comments....
Very very very very very very bad. Well cast? Yeah, but sometimes very poorly acted. Plot twist? Predictable. The extra little twist at the end? I was wrong, but my friend got it right. Will I see this again? If I'm at a friend's house and they put it in and I'm really drunk and tied to the couch and my eyes have been forced open a la A Clockwork Orange, I would start to consider watching it again.

Saw it last night and have mixed feelings. I won't say it was bad, but it certainly didn't knock me off my feet. The plot twist that came about a half hour before movie's end didn't stun me like it should have. Ella and I both felt like we didn't even need to watch the last half hour. Honestly, as soon as the twist began to unfold, I had a pretty good idea how the movie would end. There was one last twist at the very end, which kept me guessing until it dropped, but the whole thing felt very Hollywood. **SLIGHT SPOILER** The name of the movie is very telling.
The thing that bothers me is that the commercials advertise it as "The scariest movie since The Ring." We all know how I felt about The Ring, so I was expecting something a bit more gripping. Honestly, the one and only scene to put me on edge was when Clea Duvall is holed up in the bathroom, but even then, it was a matter of knowing something was coming. Otherwise, this was a pretty standard Hollywood "thriller."
I give it a C. If you're looking for something to blow you away, don't spend your eight and a half bucks on this one. I'm thinking we should have went with Confidence instead.

My turn to add my opinion of the movie. I went as well because it was being touted as "scariest movie since the Ring". Whatever. And while I love Cusack and Pruitt Taylor Vince. What was up with this plot?
I want my money back.

I forgot the best part. I saw the trailers for Pirates of the caribbean and Charlie's Angels II. Woohoo! Bernie Mac as Bosley? Man, that cracks me up, and I love those girls.
And Johnny Depp and Orlando Bloom! Too bad it's produced by Jerry Bruckheimer and Disney. Blecch.

Yeah, the CAII trailer looked just as dumb and funny as the first one, so I'll be sure to see it. However, that Pirates of the Caribean just looks awful. Aside from the cheesy walking skeletons, the dialogue they chose for the preview boggles the mind. That's what they thought would best represent the movie?! One can only guess what the rest is like!

I saw Identity over the weekend as well and while I don't think it was horrible, I definitely agree with Bronzetree saying that it felt way too Hollywood. It tried to be different but just ended up being overdone and cheesy toward the end.
i wonder why jcusack was in this film. maybe it was all of the dramatic lines he got to say in the pouring rain that sucked him in.
"This doesn't make any sense." silly.
this next paragraph needs a spoiler:
i was far more interested in the motel plot than the guy from Heavy twist.
oh, and i hate Bernie Mac to respond to the previous Charlie's Angels discussion. ughh.

C-Lando, I don't know what Samanafay is on. Bernie Mac cracks me up, esp the McDonalds Big and Tasty commercial with Grimace.
And sure, P of the C will be stupid, but how long has it been since we've seen Johnny Depp in eyeliner? I'll tell ya, too damn long.

I don't know what you guys are talking about...I thought it was great. Nice mix of psychological thriller and some gore too...and Clea Duvall...man when she wasn't crying, she sure was hot (and was wearing the bracelet of her girlfriend's old band, the NEED).
I saw it on opening night at the AMC Lennox in Columbus and it was a sold out show. They handed out questionaires when we walked in. It was on the trailers and commercials...I refused to fill mine out. They should have paid our way in if they wanted to glean marketing information out of us. I was a little pissed.

I'd complain to the manager about that shit. That's ridiculous. I saw it at an AMC as well, but it was far from sold out and we had no questionnaire. I would have filled it out, pointing out how truly fucking subversive it was to hit up movie patrons about commercials and trailers.
And Clea Duvall doesn't dig the man love? Man. There oes my hopes of sweeping her off her feet. There's still Amanda Peet, I suppose. Mmmmmmmmm, Amanda Peet.....

I liked this movie cause it screwed with my head.
I didn't like this movie cause I paid $9 to see it. $3 is what I was willing to pay. That has a term in economics, but I forgot what it's called. Consumer gets screwed I think.

Haha..god damn did you really think it was THAT bad? I thought it was just ok. Bad is FearDotCom. Bad is The Pledge. I'd give it a C.
Plot twist? Predictable.
I hate when people say this. It makes me feel really dumb. I NEVER can guess the plot twist. Even when I'm looking for it. Oh well.

this movie was apparently BAD enough for kevin barnes to make fun of it at the of montreal show. he said it was crap. if there was any drive for me to see it, it's now gone. but to tell you the truth, i didn't want to see it anyway. i just want to see john's never tiring dramatic rain scene.
amanda peet as a slut? is that called type casting?

Bet you hate Jason and the Argonauts too...c'mon, it's Pirates of the Caribean! It's not supposed to be anything beyond cheese! ;)
To be on topic, not interested in seeing Identity--even with the cast being as it is. Saving my money for other, more promising films (Matrix Reloaded, League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, The Italian Job).

I'm sorry, but I think the Italian Job is going to suck. I heard that Norton signed on with an unfinished script. When they finished it he wanted to get out, but they wouldn't let him. That's a sign of trouble to me. I want it to be good.
