Anyone heard them?
Are they as good as I've been reading?

I pulled down a coupla songs. Good stuff. I'd suggest "Horror Show" for a sample.

Picked it up yesterday. On my second listen. Like it the second time around better than the first. It's got a very fun feel to it. Maybe a little 'happier' than some of the other 'The' bands. Bought lots of other goodies....I can't resist cd sales of $7.99 and $9.99, so have to be fair & listen to them all. :)

I picked the CD up yesterday and gave it a listen. I didn't think it was groundbreaking, but it was highly enjoyable -- simultaneously sloppy and poppy.
Then the damndest thing happened. When I woke up this morning I had a tune in my head and I couldn't figure out what it was. It could have been anything, as I spent most of yesterday in the office and easily went through 8 cds and a couple hours of WOXY. Only after seeing this thread did I realize it was the title track "Up The Bracket" that's been bouncing around my head all day. I'll have to give the disc another listen now.

This disc has been on permanent repeat in the car for the past two weeks. It's a good, solid effort and the tunes are infectious. It's not music to change the world or anything, but it rocks!

The album is great. People critisised its rough-round-the-edges production style, but thats exactly how it was meant to be. Produced by the legendary Mick Jones of The Clash, it sounds as close to real life English garage rock since The Clash themselves. But a huge tip to all you fans, or almost fans of this band. WATCH THEM LIVE!!! They really quite a spectical. As they fight onstage, fall to the floor in a severly over intoxicated state, but mainly bash out tunes with more energy than your likely to imagine, The Libertines will be one for the summer festivals over here in the UK.
UP THE ALBION!!!

The record isn't as good as the single, which is brilliant, but it's strong. Very strong "The Jam" influences.

I popped the first cd at hand into the boombox this weekend--it happened to be Up the Bracket. It was the perfect music to get me in gear to work in the yard! I listened to it the rest of the weekend. Definitely one of those discs that grows (and grows) on you. :)

forget the libertines, the datsuns, the kills, the thrills, the chills, the spills, the ronco rotisseries.....
its all about The Sleazebags.
yes, The Sleazebags.
in my opinion, this 4-some from the Windy City will have your ass rocking like an iraqi bunker. the best new rock ive heard in a long, long time. they have a full-length set for release in early June entitled "Our Blood, Your Money," but for now you can enjoy a 4 track E.P. titled "Collar Up Head Down."
kick it up a notch!
