lent anyone?

as my catholic school reminded me with mass, lent has arrived, which means that spring must inevitably come. but it also means that some of us gotta giv something up. at first i thought Jesus, but that wont work, then gafelda fish, but i dont eat a whole lot of those, so its kinda like cheating. hmmm... any ideas?

I just decided i would give that up, cause i like other stuff too much, and pop really doesn't bother me, it was just the easiest thing to give up.. i was gonna do red meat, but damn if fucking steaks aren't delicious

It's not really that hard... if you don't for a month or so, then eat meat, you'll become so violently ill that you'll want to pop your own eyes out. Then you won't EVER eat it again.

One year I gave up caffinated pop, that was when I was still at Miami and was having a coke with every meal, plus various times of the day.
One year I said the rosary once a day.
the next I did it 2x
then I was up to 3x

I can't think of something relevant to give up this year, so I'm abstaining again.

I was thinking about this the other day, in light of some recent conversations, and so many other branches of Christianity think that us Catholics are just all about confession, and confession meaning redemption, but if that were true, how come so many of us end up rebeling against all of the rules and leaving? I don't think I worded that so well, but I think some of you other Catholics will know what I mean. Maybe.

Lent lasts until Easter, which is April 20 this year. So, yeah, all the potheads will be looking for their easter eggs all stoned this year, something I find particularly funny for some reason.

I've given up several things for lent - yet my biggest sacrifice was to cease rubbing 'chang' under my eyelids on the drive home from work - now, i'm a totally different man! I also gave up on rosary beads - short attention span.
