New monthly hiphop/indie/electro nite - VENT!

Datawaslost (http://www.datawaslost.net) and Sonicterror (http://www.sonicterror.net) are pleased to announce a new monthly nite happening here in Cincinnati: VENT. It's all about promoting crossover between Cincy's experimental hiphop, indie, & electronica scenes, with a beat swap and open jam where folks can bring their laptops, iPods, drum machines, or whatever else and plug in for trading & collaboration, then hit the dancefloor with performances from Abiyah & Diablo Syndrome, and DJs spinning underground beats from DJ Shadow, Anticon, Beck, Aphex Twin, Del, Avalanches, Tribe Called Quest, Squarepusher, Looper, Dan the Automator, Liars, Cylob, Roots, Stereolab, Cex, and the like..

It all starts this thursday, March 6, in the newly remodeled Cody's Downstairs, and will continue to go down the first thursday of every month afterwards.

Schedule:

8-10 beat swap / open jam
( if you can bring it in you can plug it in - wireless network and mixers provided )

10-12 live acts
( Abiyah & Diablo Syndrome )

12-2 DJs
( Line 47 & Coltrane Motion, spinning the best in danceable hiphop, indie, and idm.. )

Awesome lineup bond. It's a great idea, and as you know from my posts something that I think will be great both for music fans and the scene. Love your cross-promotion/everyone in on the jam throwdown idea too.

pretty well, i think.. it's a nice cozy place, and a small but dedicated crowd that fills it up. i like playing music that isn't heard anywhere else for people who are really into it, and that's pretty much what's going on.. plus we're bringing some very cool out-of-towners in and giving them a ready-made crowd, hopefully. neat stuff.. i think it's going to really grow here in the next few months..
