View Full Version : Theme songs for the Bush Administration.

Now that the Bush administration is mercifully coming to a close, perhaps it is now time to select a proper theme song. (examples: "Put a Sex Machine in the White House" by Mojo Nixon for the Clintons, or "I Don't Remember" by Peter Gabriel for Reagan)

My suggestions:

"American Jesus" by Bad Religion
"Mesopotamia" by the B-52s (if only for the lines "I ain't no student, of ancient culture. Before I talk, I should read a book.)

Have at it people.

Over? Did you say "over"? Nothing is over until we decide it is! Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? Hell no! And it ain't over now. 'Cause when the goin' gets tough. the tough get goin'! Who's with me? Let's go!

What the fuck happened to the Delta I used to know? Where's the spirit? Where's the guts, huh? This could be the greatest night of our lives, but you're gonna let it be the worst. "Ooh, we're afraid to go with you Bluto, we might get in trouble." Well just kiss my ass from now on! Not me! I'm not gonna take this. Wormer, he's a dead man! Marmalard, dead! Niedermeyer...

Hmmm, how about the great tune "I have a spine and I will do what we must to protect America even though I know it means possibly losing popularity among the masses with such short-term memories". I love that song.

I liked the B-side better which was "there was no fucking way iraq was a threat to us". had kind of a indie pop feel to it. :p

The Who - Behind Blue Eyes

No one knows what it's like
To be the bad man
To be the sad man
Behind blue eyes

No one knows what it's like
To be hated
To be fated
To telling only lies

But my dreams
They aren't as empty
As my conscience seems to be

I have hours, only lonely
My love is vengeance
That's never free

No one knows what it's like
To feel these feelings
Like I do
And I blame you (the American People)

No one bites back as hard
On their anger
None of my pain and woe
Can show through

But my dreams
They aren't as empty
As my conscience seems to be

I have hours, only lonely
My love is vengeance
That's never free

When my fist clenches, crack it open
Before I use it and lose my cool
When I smile, tell me some bad news
Before I laugh and act like a fool

If I swallow anything evil
Put your finger down my throat
If I shiver, please give me a blanket
Keep me warm, let me wear your coat

No one knows what it's like
To be the bad man
To be the sad man
Behind blue eyes

Jeez, I guess I should have put this in the main music thread.:(Well duh.

Yeah but they were inspired by and often accused of plagiarizing the underground hit by Larry Craig and the Toilets, My Secret (Repressed Due to My Own Regressive Social Agenda) Huge Crush on George W.:D

Actually, it's not over until January 20th...

And even then, Clinton is still the butt of many a joke. It's become an American oral tradition to make sex jokes about him. I think W is going to be a paragon of idiocy for a long time to come.
