McCain will get
Ohio (by a nose)
Florida
North Carolina
Indiana (by a mile)
Obama will get
Pennsylvania (by a mile)
Colorado
New Mexico
Nevada
Virginia (by a nose)
Obama will win, but my home state of Missouri will not be a bellwether this year. It will go to McCain by a nose.

Obama:
Pennsylvania (I don't think this truly counts but whatever)
Ohio
Nevada
Florida (yeah, I said it)
Colorado
Virginia
New Mexico
Iowa (not so swinging in this election)
McCain:
Indiana
Missouri
and I'm torn about North Carolina...it could go either way

Interesting predictions about Ohio and Florida.
Way I see it, if McCain loses Ohio, he loses Florida.
Likewise if Obama loses Florida, he loses Ohio.

not sure of the margins, but i'll agree with the wins, except i'd probably still put nevada in mccain's column.

This is exactly what I picked last night. But then I talked to my grandparents back in Ohio. Two months ago when I last talked to them, they were yelling about how Obama "just wants to help all the blacks". Yesterday they were talking about how ridiculous Palin is, how dishonest McCain has become, and telling me jokes that had something to do with kittens turning from Republicans to Democrats when they are old enough to open their eyes. So I think I'm giving Ohio to Obama by a nose.

I think Obama will squeak by in both Ohio and Florida.
Virginia is solid Obama.
I have no clue about the others.

Ain't no way VA goes Obama without PA. That's just wacked out.

how do you figure? They're not that similar geographically or demographically.

I would guess it's because Florida is LOADED with former Ohioans. Florida is the Ohio 'Mecca' for those wanting a better place to live. And then they come back to Ohio about 6 yrs. later. Go figure.

They miss the snow.
I would guess there's also the much higher minority population, wacked out property values, hurricanes, bugs, and living in a glorified trailer park full of old people that might turn them off as well.

Mostly because of early voting. Florida has banked a lead among voters registered as Democrats. I figure if McCain can overcome that in Florida, then Obama doesn't stand a chance in Ohio.
But as I often point out, I have a terrible track record with this prediction stuff!

Indiana is blue. Amazing.
Didn't think I'd see that for a long time. Even long after the race was decided, I was tracking my state's results hoping that I'd finally get to help choose an electoral voter after 20 years here.
