I felt an explosion that shook my house this morning. I thought it was a transformer but apparently not:

I didn't recognize the neighborhood, but the nice, level, well manicured lawns assured my it was nowhere near my house.

Crazy.

My money is on meth lab as opposed to an actual car bomb.

i like how the newspaper quotes reliable experts. :D

Henry Middendorf, who was walking his golden retriever, Karnen, said, “This doesn’t look like anything mechanical. This looks like a bomb.’’

oh must be the K9 unit. no...

Middendorf said he was at home having breakfast when the blast shook his house two streets away.

at least we know the golden retriever's name.

What are the odds the gas tank blew up?

Gas is flammable? We put this stuff in our cars? Quick, someone call Nader.

Gasoline needs to be vaporized before it will explode. A near empty gas tank would have a better chance of exploding than a full one (due the the tank being filled with fumes), but it would still need an ignition source.

Parked car explodes, one hurt

The scene now looks like the second five-minute segment of the "CSI" TV show, after a car traveling down a Green Township street exploded this morning, severely injuring the occupant of the vehicle.

So was it parked or was it traveling?

So papers are asking unreliable sources of information for details & having to continuously update the headline & information? Basically no one really knows what's going on yet?

I'm sure McCain has already condemned it 2x by now & complained that Barack hasn't said anything about it yet.

I witnessed what looked like the remains of a car after it hit a train today on my route. The train crossing has no signal. it's a dangerous crossing... no one but me ever stops. It only gets one train a day. There were about 20 emergency vehicles there. I hope no one lost their life... It hasn't made the news yet.

Once I was at a friend's over in Loveland and we walk out from he back deck to the front yard because i hear this faint 'eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee' sound. We look to our right and blazing 15ft in the air was a car. No noises except the horn faintly squeeling. Very surreal feeling really. I was the first to call the police. When the firemen came I asked them if it would explode (They were right next to it with the hoses). They said cars NEVER explode. The tanks just don't work that way.

That's my carfire story. Enjoy

Looks like it was a leaking acetylene tank in the guy's trunk.

http://www.wlwt.com/news/17846417/detail.htmlPffft. I leak gas in my 'trunk' all the time, and I've never exploded.
