My heart aches every time they mention this on the news. (radio) With no government infrastructure to deal with this, the disaster is just growing larger day by day.The xenophobic leaders don't help. :(

It's been Myanmar for nearly 20 years yet it seems like most people on this side of the ocean never knew that.

It seems to still be known as Burma by anyone who doesn't recognize the current military goverment. I have a friend who was traveling there for a month a few years back, and to him and the people he met along the way, it's always Burma.

Now it makes sense when I went to get a burmese python at the petstore but they said they were all out & weren't expecting any soon.

that's what i was gonna say.
this is very sad. i feel very fortunate to live in a part of the world where we get tons of snow and not tons of cyclones/tsunamis/etc...
