Just got back from Germany last night, deprived of internet access for 2 weeks to get my woxy fix. Not listening to the US Media was a blessing but not the point of this post.

So I'm going through the mail and stack of papers and my eye catches the A&E section of Sunday's paper with the title "A Rock Radio Explosion". So I quickly scan for Woxy's mention, and nothing. huh? Read deeper and the same producer for the lame EBN crap now has moved to a new "Louder is better" playing the same crap music....but louder talk. Greeeeat.

How much more greatful I am for my HD radio and WOXY! Now to fire off an email to the Cincinnati Enquirer.

I think it is in reference to This Article (http://news.cincinnati.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=2008802030302) from the Enquirer recently. I saw the article and figured there would be some mention of woxy. None to be found.

This looks like the article, minus the "rock Explosion" title.

http://news.cincinnati.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=2008802030302

gives refernce to the other rock stations as found in the A&E page.

I think John Kiesewetter generally gives us a fair shake, if not in terms of actual coverage in news stories, but by giving us some attention in his online blog thru the Enquirer web site.

That said, ALL of the print media outlets are pretty far up Clear Channel's ass and are pretty much wimps when it comes to calling them out. It's a city with a Corporate mentality, what do you expect?

I would have liked to see a mention about us, too. In fact, he interviewed one of our interns for the piece (Caitlin Behle) who told me that she specifically talked about us, but perhaps John declined to use that. Not the end of the world...

It caught the ear of Dustin Osterman, 23, of Green Township, who now spends more time with The Sound than WEBN-FM.

"I like how they play more of an indie mixture," says Osterman, a University of Cincinnati electronic media major and general manager of UC's "BearCast" online radio station (www.uc.edu/bearcast/).

Some of the same rock - Green Day, Maroon 5 - can be heard on Clear Channel's new Radio94.1, which replaced MIX94.1 in September

Times like this I miss the green Mr Yuk smiley.

Send an apology. In the long run he'll probably remember it more.

Wow, now even the MIX 94.1 was replaced? I did not know that. Sucky.

Maybe I shouldn't care, seeing as how I never ever listen to the radio anymore.
