money-laundering, bribery, RICO, FCPA among the violations....94 page indictment and he faces up to 235 years in prison.

whatever happens, i'm sure that this is in some way Bush's fault.

Almost two years ago, in August 2005, investigators raided Jefferson's home in Louisiana and found $90,000 in cash stuffed into a box in his freezer.
Cold hard cash?

Well, he's been indicted, not tried, but he should step down from his position. Cleaning house includes everyone.

Not necessarily Bush in particular, but the Republicans increasingly partisan handling of matters during their tenure has contributed.

LOL! Thanx. I knew someone on here could find a way to make this Bush/Republican/Administrations fault....at least partially. I actually heard that Cheney threatened to take him "quail hunting" if he didn't accept the bribes and pay off the foreign leaders and engage in multiple conspiracies and otherwise violate at least 16 federal laws. And the morons of Louisiana (who reelected Ray "Chocolate City" Nagin and Kathleen "It Wasn't My Fault, Blame the Feds" Blanco) with any luck, will get to vote for Edwin Edwards (four time elected Democratic Governor of Loseranna and currently serving 10 years on federal charges) who can be out of jail in time to be re-elected a 5th time by the moron electorate of the great state of Loseranna. Talk about pride.

Where is the hue and cry for Willy J's resignation from those on here who are so aghast when someone on the right side of the aisle gets nabbed?? if he was republican....oh forget it......i'm just gonna get Docta's shirt b/c it made me laugh! nothing to see here folks. just move along.

Personally, I'm tired, disillusioned, and fed up.
Corruption is not as rare as I had hoped.
Everyone's getting in on it.
I'm sick of public "servants" fucking their constituents up their asses.
I'm in a mood where every corrupt government official ought to be forced to serve in Iraq.

good. they're right. he should........probably won't unless forced out by his party leaders, but he should man up and end this charade.

i'm with silentpaul on this one though....judges used to give newly adult offenders the "army or jail" choice.....i think we should give these bastards a rifle and an 80 pound pack and make them walk a beat in Bagdad for as long as their sentence would run. hooahhh!

Oh, right. My mistake. You're ecstatic because the money-grubbing asshole in question is a Democrat, not a Republican--and therefore you get make a feeble attempt to hold it against "those on here" who do not share your politics.

Good job. Way to take a bold stance.

i just went back to re-read my initial post and my subsequent and i'm pretty sure i wasn't ecstatic about anything and i could care less that this Dem got caught this week, b/c next week, it'll be his Republican buddy that he'll roll on and 'round and 'round we'll go.....

i get a little fizzed up about this boards nearly complete silence on these kinds of things when it's "one of your own", but if it's one of them evil righty's, then Katie bar the door!! for the love of christ, there were 19 posts on a bird pooping on the presidents coat!?? and 35 posts when Duemellon and the far lefty side of the board decide to crush Bush's 6 year old decision to alter the ABM treaty only after Putin blames him for the "need" for these wonderful new Russian ICBM's and cruise missles that he's now testing and rolling into production. is it really that bad here in the US that lefty morons have to come to the defense of Putin!??!? PUTIN!??!?? seriously.

and shit......i can't even get Due to post on here about how this is just a racist indictment against an innocent black man. that's sad! it's like saying the sun won't shine anymore, or the moon isn't made of cheese.

maybe it's just me. maybe i'm just so right, so much of the time, that it's just too tough to argue with me anymore. :( yeah, let's go with that.

He fucked up. He got caught. It's nobody's fault but his own. I'm sure there's a lot more of this going on than is found out about on both sides of the political spectrum.

Since when is post count an indication of anything? You know as well as I do that CE/P is not a hotbed of frenzied posting by a wide spectrum of boarders on its best day--why would this be any different?

If you're looking to get a lot of people interested and debating, I'd suggest a topic related to music.

Think about that comparison. Sewage vs compost. They both stink, but the compost is ultimately useful and the sewage ultimately gets flushed away. So I would say the Dems are compost and the Repubs are sewage. :p

hell, at this point, its fairly safe to say that all politicians are on the take.

party side? how stupid is that?

i'm about to root for whatever party is president for the congress to be the other party just so that whomever is in power, cant rubber stamp self-serving legislation into law.

agreed. just that today they call it "fundraising". :) speaking of, I got my quarterly phone call and obligatory follow up letter from my local Congressman asking for dough. LOL! apparently the giving limits have been raised this go 'round. now i have the privilege of giving $2600 per primary cycle and can then have the honor of giving another $2600 for the general election cycle!! per candidate!! at that rate, i'll be broke.....yesterday.
