Has anyone seen this one yet?
I want opinions......
And I want them now.

I thought it was a very good movie. Fantastic character studies not only into the mind of the main character (Robin Williams) but also into the family dynamics of the family he is obsessed with. There are alot of twists and turns in the movie. I'd give it a 4 out of 5 stars.

I'd rather just watch Ghostbusters 2 again.

I don't feel worse for having seen it, but I don't feel better, either. I have no set plans for seeing it again, and I won't be buying it on DVD. Robin Williams does make a great creepy fvck, tho.

Tell me now.

C-land, the answer is 'kinda sorta'. He is certainly in a nude situation, but it isn't full nudity. My guess is that it is nude enough to guarantee we'll be buying it on dvd and utlitizing the zoom button. (Speaking of, did you see "Swimfan"??? HAHAHAHA)

I really liked "One Hour Photo" and while I found the screenplay to have some ridiculous plot points (Was every cop in the city on this case???) it was certainly intriguing. Romanek is, from all his music video work, a great visual stylist. He needs to work a touch on his screenwriting, but this is a promising debut. Robin Williams was better in "Insomnia", but this character is creepy as fuck.

Thanks for the heads up guys...

I'm really looking forward to this, the trailer freaked me out when I saw it (I was in a theatre full of old ladies (the neon on a hot sunday afternoon, it's fun) it made me want to see the movie, but I will not...I repeat, will not be going by myself...i work with someone like the guy robin williams plays... *shudder*

I thought it was pretty great.

Robin Williams delivers a very strong performance and some truly truly creeepy moments. People forget what an all around thesbian he is. (tee-hee...I said thesbian.) And there are just some scenes in the film that make you say, "whoooooa. That was creepy" and then the person in front of you says, "Shhh!" Also, it was great how sterile and bland an enviroment that they made the store and his apartment and such. Good flick, I say.

I know one thing, I'm never gonna take my film to the Wal-Mart one hour photo again. :D

I wholeheartedly agree with Phil. I give this movie a B plus.

Now I want to buy a digital camera.

Whew.... finally got to see it. I knew the Esquire had it, but I don't see a lot of films there, so I waited a little longer and saw it at AMC.

I agree with most of the sentiment on here. It's a fascinating character study into the mind of an off center man.

What I loved: the slow methodical build-up of lies that Sy led, the deliberate pacing (some may say it was slow... but I liked the pacing), the voice over (which I think actually helps Williams performance tremendously, since it allowed Sy to be low key while still speaking volumes), the lack of graphic violence (it could've boiled down to a hack'n'slash, but it never pandered to that denomiator), the acting (although I was waiting at any moment for Gary Cole to say 'Yeah, that'd be greeeeaaaat.'), and Romanek for visual style and a great script.

Bonus points for the 'red eye', tribute to '2001: A Space Odessey', dream sequence.

**SPOILERS**

What I didn't like: Ok, if I were to get fired from working at Savmart, wouldn't YOU take away my keys for display cases? I mean, if they were that intent on getting me out of the store, wouldn't YOU watch the security cameras and see me steal a huge friggin' knife?! And on that note... when Sy was running down the parking lot ramp near the end, wasn't the cop car coming up to meet him? And somehow they magically switched places so Sy gets by it.? Go figure.

**SPOILER OFF**

All-in-all, I really enjoyed the movie and it was definitely worth the wait for me.

3.75 out of 5 cheese doodles, and Williams an Oscar nod (...and with any luck, he'll get TWO for this year's work, supporting and leading.... and not for 'Death To Smootchy')

Oh, and I saw the 'Ring' remake at a sneak. I'll post a review soon. It was pretty darn good too... go figure.

I rented this movie a couple of days ago.

I went to Meijer today and got freaked out. As we passed the one hour photo, my wife whispered, "they look at your pictures."

Freaky

i saw this recently as well. the thing that i loved the most was the cinemetography. the bright blues against the whites; it had a very modern feel to it. it was beautiful.
and thankfully the one hour photo that i use is run by college kids who look like they don't give a damn so they don't frighten me so much.

I agree with most of the positive comments regarding One Hour Photo, however, nobobdy had mentioned one of the neatest things that I noticed about the picture. If you watch the film in widescreen a lot the shots are framed like snap shots. I don't think I'd liked the movie as much as I did with out noticing that little subtle technique. I highly recommend it also, but make sure to watch it in WIDESCREEN.

Rented this a few weeks ago and really dug it. Williams was brilliant.

Refreshing to see a movie of this type that doesn't end in violence.
