From "decider" to "decision-maker". ;)

No longer the "Decider in Chief" (http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070126/ap_on_go_pr_wh/bush)

I'm surprised he didn't call himself "King of the World".

He can call himself anything he wants to, but the name he's earned is "Supreme Asshole".

I still can't believe douchebag got elected twice. I listened to a one-on-one interview with him on NPR yesterday. He can't think for himself or put together a simple, clear sentence. It's embarrassing to be an American.

That interview was, um you know, a lot of smart people said, I mean told me, hard to um, listen too.

Kerry would have been worse.

The wrong people in the wrong place at the wrong time. Odds are it will happen every now and then.

Bush is unpoplular enough at this points that not many people are going to get political points by agreeing with him, Democrats especially so. One wonder what Bush really expected to happen from all this.

I've said this before, but I don't think Bush is all that stupid. He purposefully comes off with that impression and people end up misunderestimating him (see both elections for evidence of that). He's gotten his way on a lot of issues over the years, long after I thought his political capital had run out.

I like to imagine his last couple of years in office as the flip-side of what happened to Clinton.

Recently my wife and I were catching up on the Battlestar Galactica series. Near the end of Season 2 the show focuses on their own presidential election between seasoned politician Roslin the empty suit Baltar. I wondered aloud about who in their right mind would ever vote for Baltar. My wife then pointed out that we were on our second term of George Bush. I had to laugh at that. I want a bumper sticker that says "Don't Blame Me, I Voted For Roslin".

Though I agree Kerry was a terrible candidate (thanks primary system), at least he can speak. His worst moments are better than Dubya's best.

My current favorite description of him, from Over The Rhine:

If A Song Could Be President
If a song could be president
We'd hum on Election Day
A gospel choir would start to sway
And we'd all have a part to play
The First Lady would free her hips
Pull a microphone to her lips
Break our hearts with Rhythm and Blues
Steve Earle would anchor the news

We'd vote for a melody
Pass it around on an MP3
All our best foreign policy
Would be built on harmony
If a song could be president
We'd fly a jukebox to the moon
All our founding father's 45s
Lightnin' Hopkins and Patsy Cline
If a song could be president

If a song could be president
We could all add another verse
Life would teach us to rehearse
'Til we found the key change
Break out of this minor key
Of half-truths and hypocrisy
We wouldn't need an Underachiever-in-Chief
If a song could be president

We'd make Neil Young a senator
Even though he came from Canada
Emmylou would be ambassador
World leaders would listen to her
They would show us where our country went wrong
Strum their guitars on the White House lawn
John Prine would run the FBI
All the criminals would laugh and cry
If a song could be president

Unless that song was "Used to Love Her" by GnR, then the President would be a psychotic killer.

yes. i watched 48 Hours Mystery last night. so what. :)
