I've been doing some research this morning, and I've found interweb articles announcing that National Hot Dog Day is July 20, some that say July 21, and even more that say July 23.
Does anyone know for sure which it is?? I need to know, in order to plan how I'm gonna celebrate.
In my searches, I did find this site which I thought was interesting, to say the least.

Yes.
But, my Dilbert desk calendar will not confirm.
Damn Dogbert!
Hmmm...
Last year it was July 25.

I think you just need to celebrate on all 3 days. Personally, I think the hot dog deserves a whole month.

Ok, then I think the appropriate question is how do we celebrate national hot dog month?
4theestoe? Any ideas?
For a long time I've been a proponent of the "I think we need more excuses to tailgate" philosophy. We should all tailgate somewhere and just bring a grill and like 800 hot dogs.

According to the National Hot Dog and Sausage Council's website (http://www.hot-dog.org/) National Hot Dog Day is July 19!!!!
This is terrible news!!!! Sorry Four!! :( :( :(
But definitely check out the Hot Dog Etiquette page!! :D
Do...serve sesame seed, poppy seed and plain buns with hot dogs. Sun-dried tomato buns or basil buns are considered gauche with franks.

Duuuude, I'm on that same "Hey Tailgate Every Night" bandwagon, but we're having trouble getting a meeting going. Maybe it will be easier when the Bengals are a-playin'?

Don't use ketchup on your hot dog after the age of 18.
Since when? I am going to go and sulk now. :(

I agree wholeheartedly. I remember hearing 2 people on radio or television jokingly talking about the point in a guys life when he switches from ketchup to mustard on his hot dogs, and the correlation between that and becoming a man, or something like that.
I was the exact opposite. I couldnt stand ketchup on hot dogs until I was about 15-16, and now I use either just ketchup, ketchup and mustard, or just brown mustard. (Of course if kraut, onions, etc. are available, then thats a different story)
Chicago style hot dogs suck, though.
Either that, or I just happened to eat the worst one ever made the last time I was in Chi-town
Hot dogs are awesome, by the way

I am gonna venture to the weirdo Skyline's down here in Ft. Lauderdale this weekend and have something called "hurricane" chili on a coney...I love hotdogs so much. If you are anywhere near Athens Ohio, go to O Betty's and have a Dixie...fucking delicious

Anyone ever had a slaw-dog?? Last summer there was a houseboat on the ohio river that had food and that's where I discovered this delicious item.
Buttered, grilled bun, hot dog, and lots of cole slaw piled on top = yummy,

That sounds pretty gross. I can't believe you posted that...being pregnant and sick and all...
I think everyday should be hot dog day. Matter of fact...think I'll throw Oliver on the grill right now.
