they have finally justified all internal spying on americans. these fbi raids on muslim terrorists groups in the u.s. (be they without fact or not) will boaster americans to release our rights as a free people.

as seen on tv (http://www.cnn.com/2006/US/06/23/miami.raids/index.html)

i hope we take this to be the exception rather then the norm in future years.

Internal spying on Americans? Is it internal if it takes place in Belgium (http://www.nytimes.com/2006/06/23/washington/23intel.html?hp&ex=1151121600&en=18f9ed2cf37511d5&ei=5094&partner=homepage) ?

Naudimar Herrera, Burson Augustin, Lyglenson Lemorin and Rotschild Augustine.

I guess Joe, Billy, John and Sammy were too "plain". what the hell kind of name is Lyglenson anyway?? and i can't even say Rothschild Augustine without aiming my nose in the air and talking like Thurston Howell III.

morons. every one. sounds like a bunch of looney bin escapees on a cough syrup bender.

They should let those poor terrorists go. I'm sure that illegal wire taps were used in the investigation, and they are likely to be abused by nasty prison guards while being interrogated.

Small oversight: you forgot to add "HEY, I'M TRYING TO BAIT YOU!" to your subject line.

It doesn't appear that the government found this group based upon any of their debatable surveillance techniques. The U.S. attorney at the press conference said the group came to law enforcement’s attention when Narseal Batiste approached an someone about waging jihad inside the United States (from MSNBC).

Has anyone else noticed that this case blows a big friggin hole in the "fight them there so we don't have to fight them here" rationale? It would seem that they are here, regardless of whether we're fighting them there.

For some reason, though, no one seems willing to point out the death of this particular talking point.

Danger, Danger! Rational Thought Alert! NSA and FBI officials will be visiting you shortly.

Well, at the very least Karl Rove will ask you to keep quiet.

While everyone else is doing their best to make snide comments etc., I'm simply just thanking God that they didn't get to carry out their mission. Who cares how in the hell we found them?

Don't mind the grumpy bastard. Carry on.

Right. At this point in time they couldn't have done anything. But doesn't everything start with a plan?

It's the same old story. 5 years from now if they would have succeeded, everybody would be asking why our intelligence system failed.

You have a very good point there.
