There was this great little Australian movie called Starstruck--made in 1982. The Swingers did a bunch of tunes in it. How about "Gimme Love?" Or anything from that flick? Kind of obscure, I know (but well worth digging around for).
(My favorite song from that was "I Want to Live in a House," sung by Ross O'Donovan. If you have that, I will love you even more than I already do.)

ooo, awesome idea. so many great soundtracks out there. one I unearthed recently is "out of bounds" starring the still-somewhat-geeky-but-trying-to-break-out-of-the-stereotype anthony michael hall.

siouxsie's "cities in the dust" would be a good cut off there, unless you're in a night ranger sort of mood.
another one of my favorite soundtracks (from 1986 as well, incidentally) is "something wild"

I'd suggest "not my slave" by oingo boingo, but there are a bunch of great tunes on there.
edited to say: oh yea, forgot...these suggestions are courtesy of brian in the NATI

I may not fully understand the parameters, what with the exclusion of Psych Furs (does that mean it does NOT have to be vintage  )
I think the implication was that pretty in pink would be the "freebird", so to speak, of vintage modern rock soundtracks. barb probably wanted to mix it up a bit by getting some suggestions that maybe don't get heard quite as often.

Great input so far, gang! Since this is a show on the WOXY Vintage Channel, I'd like to stick with tunes that you WON'T necessarily hear that often over on the main channel. For example, Elliott Smith is a bit too recent in my eyes.
As much as I'd like to do some digging for some of these songs in the future, if you've never heard us play it in the past... chances are you won't hear it tomorrow either, sorry.
Sushi, we don't have that in our library at this time. Something else?
Chespo, thanks for adding my all time fave soundtrack song to your list! Sadly, we do not have the Malcolm Mclaren tune, though.
Sorry daemon, I love me some Kokomo to hum in the elevator.. but we just don't have it in our library. Another?
jcarwash31, something a bit older, please.
Suntzu, I've got both the Lost Boys AND Some Kind Of Wonderful at home on cassette. Sadly not here, though. Another?

I would love to hear either "Trouble" or "If You Want To Sing Out, Sing Out" by Cat Stevens, both from Harold & Maude.
Thanks!

I think we'll need to see the roster before terms can be agreed upon.
