the presidential caravan driving by my window in downtown Cincinnati. I think Bush is on his way to a fundraiser in Indian Hill, a nice neighborhood of Cincinnati. That caravan went on FOREVER. They blocked off the entire interstate for that too.

I watched the motorcade go up I-71 on the Artimis cameras. I'm quite surprised I was able to do so.

The day a president comes to the west side is the day the country isn't polarized.

Heh, heh, heh...there are a few perks that come with living in the suburbs. Actually, if Bush came through Montgomery or PGC, I think he would NEED all that security.

i was thinking about this yesterday also and how it makes me sick. the pres or veep are only ever here to pick somebody's pocket (or trying to scare the shit out of people). remember the night before the election? they were here and talking about cincinnati like it was the greatest place in the world.

i have no illusions about politics but it just never ends being so damn transparent and trite.

well, if he was in cinci yesterday, odds are he's back in DC today, cause I just watched 4 of the Marine1 style helicopters buzz past my office.

Very Ride of the Valkyries/Apocalypse Now feeling. :D

He was picking people's pockets for Mike Dewine. They spoke to Bill Cunningham (a local talk radio guy) on the news about the event, since he was the only one who attended who'd talk to the press. He kept saying how there is so much love in Mr. Bush and how Mr. Bush is so personable and caring and that if everyone saw that in him his approval ratings would go from 40% to 80%. Yeah, okay, being a nice can only go so far when you're incompetent.

Uh, yeah, doi Bill. If everyone saw that in me, a similar jump in popularity would occur.
