What if it was possible to put birth control into the crack supply? It would get the best results if we could figure out how to make it work for both men and women. Just some chemicals to kill fertility for a few weeks after smoking it.

Hey, I'd support that. Then the crackheads wouldn't have to bust into peoples cars to get 5 bucks for a fix anymore. I'd still like to reduce the birth rate in the Cincinnati ghettos though.

First of all, the notion of exterminating crack addicts troubles me somewhat. Plus, if you're going to put birth control in something, put in alcohol, starting with Coors Light ("The Official Beer of Unwanted Pregnancy").

I don't want to kill them off, I just want to stop them from breeding the next generation of neglected kids and to allow them to get high without breaking into cars. If they die on their own, well, we all die of something.

Lot's of white people smoke crack my friend.

This is just antidotal evidence, but when I was on grand jury last year, I'd guess 60% of the cases we saw were for possession of small amounts of crack. This has a lot to do with the fact that possession of any amount of crack is a felony in Ohio, but I digress. It's been over a year but I remember being surprised how many were white (since I expected them to mostly black, I guess that makes me sort of racist). I'm recalling it was close to half.

Might be a little difficult to regulate.
My experience with crack dealers is that they are all about "me me me".
On the upside I suspect some of the ingredients mixed in as rock filler just may be crushed up birth control pills....when they run out of cleaning solvents of course.

While it's true that inner city ghettos have a disproportionate number of black inhabitants, there are plenty of poor whites there too. Just take a look at some of Drexel Daves pictures. I don't think discouraging people from breeding who do not have either the maturity or monetary means to raise children is either a bad idea or necessarily racist.

The net effect is the same thing, I suppose. Although the mean time-to-death might still produce a lot of (completely physically messed up) babies. And who picks up the healthcare tab for the innocent (baby) victims as well as the self-abusers? Just askin' as a practical matter.

Up here it is either a Honduras or Angels/biker run industry. Very few black people involved. Most of the walking dead are white or first nation.

I agree that it does, but maybe it shouldn't. Crack happens to be the drug of the moment in Cincinnati. Either that, or the heroin and meth users are just getting arrested a lot less.

I am totally ignorant about drug use in the city or the country, but from what I've read, one of the components in making meth is fertilizer and there is more availability of that out in farming communities.

That, and from what I understand meth labs are notoriously obvious (the smell). You'd have a hard time hiding a meth lab in a highly populated area.

I had seen news stories where the yahoos making meth would steal from the tanks and because it's so highly flammable, some of them have been badly injured when they opened the tanks. Farmers were also having to stay up all night to patrol their own farms with guns to scare the meth heads away. :(

What is so wrong with letting a gay couple adopt one of these children, give them love and care, and reduce the state's financial burdens at the same time? True, they will probably carry and deliver the child, but odds are the child will be left to the foster care system at some point. The second piece of legislation would certainly affect these children in some aspect. And both of them are bullshit.

First of all, #2 should just be spat upon. "Having a man in the house" isn't as important as having a quality parent or two. This is a bill created out of fear and misunderstanding.

Second of all, bad things happen. Bad luck is bad luck. Sometimes there is no alternative to someone dying. That's why I'm ok with banning abortion, except in cases where there has to be a choice between the mother's life or the baby's life. I believe abortion is killing someone, and the focus should be decreasing the number of unwanted pregnancies, not whether the mother wants the baby or not. Accident or not, responsibility has to be taken.

Putting birth control in beer, wine, and liquor might prevent many more unwanted pregnancies, I think.
