That is a very cool image and ya know, it really describes my initial impression of that arch the first time I saw it.
I often talk about this arch in my ancient art history class. That's where I introduce architecture, particularly ancient Roman architecture. Anyway, a number of my students have been to the St. Louis arch and rode the elevator cars up to the top, but I always encourage them to get the other ticket...the one to the film that shows the building of the arch. That is one of the most frighteneing and suspenseful films I've ever seen!
Thanks for sharing the pic. I'm not a big fan of St. Louis, but that arch is a sure draw.
