View Full Version : Sex in the classroom - literally!!

They grow up so fast, don't they?

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/9941838/

I don't know what's sadder - the fact that parents don't believe their teenagers are into sex or the fact that school administrators believe that an abstenance-only/no birth control approach to sex ed actually works in stopping kids from having it...

I'm not surprised...I seem to recall Osbourne Park High as being pretty trashy, at least when I was in high school.

EDIT: funnier still that kids from T.C. Williams are looking down their noses at them...that place was an even bigger dump.

ahh yes Osbourne Park...politely referred to as Assbourne Park by my former classmates at Hylton High, their rival school. My brother is on the football team at Hylton now and knows some on the OP football team. The buzz among the students is that the girls are sluts on the soccer team and they were punished, while the guys who are on the football team received lighter punishment. Cuz, like, ya know, missing a few games that they probably wouldn't have won anyway would be a travesty.

I think it's a shame that OP or Prince William County should have to write out a rule forbidding sexual activity on campus. Parents should be teaching their kids some self-respect. What happened to waiting until after school, lying to your parents about whose house you were studying at, then sneaking off to a park???

Yes you are correct...Hylton was opened in 1991. I graduated from there in 2000.

I think that general region of Manassas where OP pools its student body from is, well, a little trashy?? I really hate to generalize a whole region but my experiences with those kids mostly involved getting invited to field parties/alcoholic haze bonfires and hearing about who got knocked up.

I don't know exactly where they're students tend to hail from, though if memory serves it was a tad redneckish. But hey, that was a long time ago.

At Woodbridge, the rebuke was that we were all a bunch of well-to-do Yuppies in training...which, come to think of it, was not entirely unfounded; being the son of an Army Lieutenant Colonel who lived in a townhouse made my background modest compared to that of most of my peers, many of whom seemed to regard getting a new car for their 16th birthday as some sort of birthright.

Someone from our cross-town rivals, Gar-Field, whose students largely came from Dale City (and who tended to be much less well off) said something the effect about all the WSHS kids being a bunch of rich snobs somewhere (in their school paper, I think). This prompted a large number of Woodbridge students to show up at a Woodbridge/Gar-Field b-ball game dressed in tuxes and formal dresses carrying (empty) champagne bottles, while later that week the newest edition of the school newspaper featured the principal and a couple of student council officers posing in front of a BMW dressed in suits holding martini glasses, with the contents inside being a big satirical goof on the whole notion.

Say what you will about the Class of '87, we at least had a sharp sense of humor. :D

As a young kid I thought sex in High School was the norm; a notion I picked up from classic 80's flicks like "Porky's" and "Zapped".

It wasn't until my teenage years I learned the... (OK, my) unfortunate reality.

Very very funny Shlep. You and I are both Army brats (I seem to recall having this conversation before??) I must say that Garfield is still known as a "ghetto" school and that's partially why Hylton was opened - to allow more affluent yuppies who were moving to Dale City/Montclair to have a safe school for their children.

But back to the sex scandal. I'm disturbed by all of this, but especially the fact that the kids were OK with other people watching. I really would not want my kid going to a school where kids having sex during school hours was "not a big deal". Also, maybe the school needs to lock all the classroom/activity room doors after a certain time to prevent this.

These kids are idiots. Who thought it was a good idea to have sex in THE FUCKING GYM?!
Well............not the fucking gym, but you know what I mean.
Yeah, don't have it at some secluded, NEVER-EVER-NO-WAY-you-could-be-found-out place, have it in your freaking high school surrounded by sticklers and...........fellow classmates............eww.
They should expell the kids just for being so DUMB.
Or at least cut all their tubes.
That'd teach them.

The part of the article about after school hours makes perfect sense though. Its alot easier to get away with stuff you wouldnt normally do in public 'cause school is largely deserted. I once ran into a visiting girls cross country runner changing in the stairwell cause she couldnt find the bathroom.

Come to think of it (no pun intended) guys masterbating during class was a much more common occurrence at my HS. The kinky sex stuff happened at the parties.

you had the perfect opportunities! Especially if you read that article. Plenty of afterschool time, secluded prop storage rooms, catwalks above the stage. If you didnt get freaky on a regular basis in that context then its youre own fault. :p

From my position I just wish I had gotten envolved in ANY after school activities, seems that would have improved my chances at some HS action immensely!

Apparently cases of gonnorhea of the throat (!) have risen astronomically over the last few years. I don't have any hard facts to present, but I was talking with another parent who's friends with a family practitioner who's seen all kinds of girls coming in with it. So, it's a bit third-hand, but I believe it.

As a guy, I just don't get why all these girls seem so eager to perform oral sex. Unless they're getting some quality reciprocation, which I kind of doubt from high school boys. Plus, it's much tougher to perform cunnilingus in public... :p

I don't necessarily share that opinion. I think an act that could potentially create a human life is more personal than oral sex by a great magnitude. I suppose everyone could see it differently.

i really do think masochism is hard-wired into the female psyche (i'm guessing 'cause of biological necessity if babies are to survive). then you throw in the the paradoxical power arrangement (who's actually in charge in that act---you could argue either way), and it perversely adds up.

"seem" is the operative word here. it's less riskier than intercourse and a good way to avoid intercourse with a guy if you don't want to do it.
Handjobs are even less risky. :D

I've heard people say that we can thank Clinton for making oral sex "not count" as a sex act, but I knew a lot of people who felt that way long before Ms. Lewinsky's... er... rise to fame. I just can't believe that kids don't think there are still risks involved. You're still exchanging bodily fluids, folks!

13 Nov 2005, 12:22 PM
depends upon the situation. giving oral sex to someone whom you want to please and care a great deal about is a massive turn on.

so in that sense, no, it isn't about low self esteem. it's about giving a partner, whom you happen to love very much, pleasure.

now, giving oral sex in the boys lockeroom by the showers is probably about getting attention and some kind of praise which does in fact equal low self value...

Well said.

My recollection of my late eighties, pre-Lewinsky high school experience is that intercourse was kind of the apex of sex and anything else, up to and including oral, was a kind of intermediate step. Much of that had to do with one's status as a virgin, which seemed to only apply to intercourse. You had crossed that line or you hadn't and everything else was just everything else. You could have been in a menage-a-goat and still consider yourself a virgin if there was no actual . . . you know.

But yeah, as an adult in a real relationship, oral, giving or getting, seems more intimate. I think there's a sense that the giver's motives are pure, that they're not in it for themselves and that's gratifying whichever side you're on. Or at least, that's how I remember it . . . sigh.
