Frist was on Tony Snow today and said unequivocally he has the votes to pass the Nuclear Option (these two are both conservatives so they call it the "Constitutional Option" which is gay and no fun).

SNOW: In other words, you will say to Democrats, "OK, we've been playing Mr. Nice Guy, but we're going to go ahead and vote on something that says, for the purposes of voting in the United States Senate, the Constitution requires only a majority vote. And therefore, filibusters will henceforth not be in order when it comes to judicial nominees for the federal bench by the president.

FRIST: That is correct, because the tyranny of the minority should not offend and take advantage of a system that clearly, clearly lays out in the Constitution advice and consent, meaning an up-or-down, fair, dignified up-or-down vote on the floor of the Senate.

SNOW: Do you believe you have the votes to pass the constitutional option?

FRIST: Yes, yes. You know, and why do I say that so quickly? It's because this is a proven nominee. He meets the highest standards of excellence in this country. And I have enough respect in this body, the United States Senate, the upper legislative body of the greatest country in the world, to act accordingly. And that is vote them up, vote them down. You can decide how you want to, but give this proven nominee with those highest standards of excellence a vote.

While it may be no fun, I don't think it's gay.. because if it's gay it would definitely be fun.

Way to stand up for something!

It's gay in the not fun gay way. I'm going to the Halloween Parade in the West Village tonight, and that is sure as fuck fun in the fun gay kind of way -- a par-tay, so to say.

Hooray.

Remember back when you had to amend the Constitution to do something that required powers not granted to the Federal Government? Like that time they banned alcohol for, like, a bunch of years?

Yeah, that was great.

nuclear option --> constitutional option
global warming --> global climate change
private accounts --> personal accounts

Eh, those are okay. But for my money nothing could ever top

suicide bomber --> homicide bomber

Thank you Ari Fleischer. Fox News is still clinging to this one.

Just remember, every nominee deserves a fair up or down vote. Unless of course, that nominee is Harriet Miers, in which case she should just withdraw beforehand, because she isn't conservative enough.

AND That's your Republican Talking Point of the Day..

I keep remembering the word croniism. Have we forgotten about this cute little word now? Oh, that's right, the left used this word till they realized Harriet might be quite the moderate, then they shut up.

Screw the left, I like this guy.
