So Israel pulled out of Gaza, and Iran thinks it's just a trick. (http://broadband.zoomtown.com/news/read.php?ps=1018&id=13578366)

I liked this part:
"Anybody who recognizes Israel will burn in the fire of the Islamic nation's fury, any (Islamic leader) who recognizes the Zionist regime means he is acknowledging the surrender and defeat of the Islamic world," Ahmadinejad said.
"Hey, Jordan! Remember me?"
"No."
"Aw, c'mon...it's me! Israel! Dont'cha recognize me?"
"No, I don't. Sorry. **whew! that was close!"

That Iran is run by madmen should surprise exactly no one.
That said, the Sharon Gaza pullout could be considered a "trick." Israel scores a major public relations and diplomatic coup, while simultaneously allowing the West Jordanians to make a miserable and public failure of forming a legitimate state under the leadership of criminals and terrorists.

Agree with Orville Wrong on this. They're quite right to be skeptical, but there's a not-so-fine line between skepticism and hatred.
This is an area I wouldn't mind seeing the US get involved, though it's bound to be a costly mess.

Bomb them now or bomb them later?
Why not both?

That's what the U.S. should get into. A good holy war. Because those never last more that a couple hundred years or so.

if Ahmadinejad keeps spewing vitriol it is likely to get the attention of others too.

I might hasten to point out, THP, that we've been involved up to our butt-cheeks for decades with these guys and their stupid, pointless, spiteful, tit-for-tat blood fued based on snits and quarrels that reach so far back into antiquity that you'd need dual degrees in Archeology and Poli Sci to competantly discuss them. And for our troubles, we get accused of being pro-Israel by most everyone except the Israelis when they accuse of of being pro-Arab.
Like most Mid East dust-ups, it's a family quarrel where memories run long and sense runs short. There's little we can do (above and beyond what we've been doing) to help.
