I was hoping that some of you art kids may be able to help me out here...

my masters' program puts on readings a few times a semester, and we always put out posters to announce who and where. this semester, however, a new girl has taken over this task and did a VERY poor job. i mean, it looks just awful. she uses clipart from like '97.

so i think i'm going to go over her head and start making them, but i'm looking for some images to jump off the poster - one to make someone stop and read...

any of you woxians have any ideas or images that i could possibly use? think literary and think fun. think shocking and think literary. think literary and whatever.

once i find an image i'm going to figure out the layout and do it up RRJ style...

thanks in advance.

How about Rafe and a goat?

Doesn't have to be photoshopped either...

Don't know if you'd be interested, but Stanford has a big site on Dime Novels that includes cover images:

Thought it might have some interesting ideas -- or even things for photoshopping.

And here's a site that collects old Magician posters -- again, could be used to produce a cool retro look:

And here's a site that collects the cover images from old Pulp Novels -- once you get past the fact that it's in French and the host has irritating pop-up ads, it's pretty cool:

Some of these might end up as good posters... With a bit of editing of course to make hi-res versions that look good.

i like it!

my only suggestion would be to maybe switch up the text a little. namely the text at the bottom of the poster by switching the font maybe? it seems like it needs a little differentiating to really make the title on top pop out.

that's my two cents

Oh, and about your poster:
I love it. Perhaps you could WRAP the test around the belly and arm to make it jive with the elephant better and pop out less.

Just a thought. :)

Hey! My husband and I do screenprinted posters for a decent price if you're in to that. We are out of Louisville. Just a little thing that we have been doing out of our garage mainly for bands for some extra pocket change. Take a look at our website if you are interested. www.audiophileink.com (http://www.audiophileink.com)
