Sorry, not just a WOXY plea for help, but more Mac help...I'm still adjusting to the Mac...but as far as browsing on the web...my Woxy page is alllll divied up...the main navigation bar is totally gone, and I have to manually type in the addresses of the boards page, or music page etc. Also, it doesn't give me links for streaming...although I'm happy to report that today at least the ITunes stream is working! I'm psyched...

So if any Mac users can give me a crash course in viewing woxy, and/or any other transitional tips, it would be appreciated.

My biggest problem right now, is the mouse...I plugged in my Logitech USB Optical, and it works fine...other than the Scroll and Right Mouse Button. I can use the button while holding control...but other than that, is there any way to activate my scroller or the left/right mouse buttons? I know I should adjust, but the scroller...its driving me nuts that it doesn't work...force of habit.

Anyway, thanks for any help.

Oh...one more thing...I noticed there was a second monitor input in the back...I want to bring my spare PC Monitor from home, but I think I'd need some kind of pc/mac monitor adapter...any info reguarding this would be great too!

Thanks,
Greg

First, you need to tell us what OS you're using. Tiger, Panther, Jaguar, etc. Then you need to tell us what Internet Browser you're using (Safari, Firefox, IE, etc.) If you're using IE, Microsoft stopped updating that for the Mac two years ago, so you might want to switch to one more current.

My biggest problem right now, is the mouse...I plugged in my Logitech USB Optical, and it works fine...other than the Scroll and Right Mouse Button. The mouse preferences should be in the 'Utilities' folder in 'Applications' if you're running OS 10 or higher. You'll probably have to launch the app and then click 'Preferences' in the menu tab. Maybe it's not automatically set up to use the right-click yet.

Depends on what connection your PC monitor has. Is it an older model? What kind of Mac do you have? All important questions that need to be answered before help is given. ;)

Don't know if this'll be of any help, but here goes:
if you're using Safari or Firefox*, click "View" at the top of the page -- the drop-down menu should have commands to turn on the address bar, the bookmarks bar, the status bar, etc.

*(if not, use them -- Safari should already be on your computer, in the Applications folder)

Um...well it's not really up to me. It's my work computer, and although the company is supposedly springing for new G5's this fall, I have very little to no say what I use.

It's OS9 and Internet Explorer is the only browser installed.

Being a PC person myself, if this is particularly horrifying, I just don't know...

I don't know if they'd let me use a different browser...

And, the monitor I'd be using is from an HP Pavilion, that is about 4 years old. I don't really want to bring in my flat screen to work, but if I have too...I NEEEEED more room for my pallettes!

Yup, that's your prob. Our site is unsupported on Internet Explorer for Mac as it's ancient.

I tried Opera 6.03 (http://opera.com/download/index.dml?platform=mac&ver=6.03) for OS 9 on my Tiger system and it seemed to display woxy.com just fine. There is no real 'installing' to be done, just download it and run it. Might work fine on a pure OS 9 system, but I wouldn't know for sure. Hope this helps.

any idea what is going on now?

when the thing goes asleep - i can't wake it up - in the past i'd hit a key or move the mouse

now, when i do either the pulse light goes off & nothing happens

i unplug the thing & start it up again

Try resetting the PRAM. Sorry I can't search a link and post but I'm on the iPhone right now so it's a bit difficult. If you search it on google for your machine you should find it. It may help.

PRAM reset is Command-Option-P-R all at once.

It does work slightly different if you do it form a powered off state vs. a restart.

Thanks for that, grum. I knew there was a shortcut to it but damned if I know all that mess. :D
