View Full Version : AAC Streams Choppy for Anyone?

I've noticed that so far this week, the AAC streams (both hi and lo) have been choppy, going to "buffering" every couple of seconds after I've been listening for about a minute. I'm using WinAmp, and am inside a firewall at work, but am going around the proxy server.
Anyone else having these issues? I can't ask our network guys b/c they'll be like... "You're trying to do WHAT!" and will shut me down. I can probably use the WM stream, but I'd prefer not to.
TIA
D.

I am seeing the same thing. You may want to email Brian and let him know. I am listening to the mp3 stream and it sounds fine.

I've been having problems intermittently since they switched to new servers.

You guys HAVE to send Bryan e-mails directly when you have any connection problems. Do not assume that he sees every posting on this board or knows that something is going on. Our streaming is now more localized which means that you connect to servers that are closer to where you live...and I don't know if that has anything to do with the fact that some people report issues where other people do not.

True. I listen to the aacPlus streams exclusively here at the station on a daily basis, the exact same ones that you guys use, and haven't had any issues at all. Can any of y'all experiencing issues do a traceroute to xalt.ic.llnwd.net and email it to me? bryan AT woxy.com

I email Bryan every time it happens, which is everyday unfortunately. Just happened again, and again, and again.

I'm late getting back to check this, but things seem good so far for me. I didn't want to bug you Bryan (if you're checking here) b/c I thought it could be an issue with our network here. I'll tracert the address you posted above next time I'm getting pops and will let you know what I find.
Thanks for the help.
