He may have just wrote his own epitaph: “The use of force is the last option for any president. You know, we’ve used force in the recent past to secure our country"

Looks like Iran has been aggressively building weapons during the time that we have been distracted with Iraq...
The only way that Bush can get the American public to get behind an attack on Iran is for there to be another tragic event or terrorist attack.. hmmm.. any tin foil hat folks here?

You can't take force off the table, as Germany apparently wants to do. Having force as an option is not the bad idea, using force as anything but a last resort is a bad idea.
But watch closely.
We know if Iran gets a Nuke it could be really bad, yet the IAEC is only 'threatening' to send Iran to the security council for sanctions. To me this is insane. Sanctions should be in place right now.
Iran should be quite worried. I think Bush learned his lesson in Iraq that trying to install a government does nothing to quell the violence. In other words, just bomb the hell out of them, who cares what they think about it. They are helping the insurgency and funding terrorists anyway.

Most agree with you here. The reason it is a bad idea is that you are left with nothing or little else but to do the following:
Iran should be quite worried. I think Bush learned his lesson in Iraq that trying to install a government does nothing to quell the violence. In other words, just bomb the hell out of them, who cares what they think about it. They are helping the insurgency and funding terrorists anyway.
Slippery slope? I don't think so. The reason Bush cannot take force off the table is that he has nothing else left on the table.

Well,
we are soon to here numerous reasons why we shouldn't do anything to Iran.
Sanctions would increase hate of the west, breeding terrorism.
Bombings would increase hate of the west, breeding terrorism.
From my pont of view we have offered Iran every way around the situation and they still insist on the route that will give them a nuke. If they continue they will be bombed, there can be no doubt, the only question is who is flying the bombers.

You are probably right here too. Again, this is what happens when we use force irrationally like we did. There's not much else to do but bomb the shit out of each other.
hmmm...perhaps this is an argument against the theory of evolution. ;)
