A Long Island man was arrested on child endangerment charges after he approached two girls on the street, questioned them about their feet and asked them if they wanted to model socks and sandals for him, authorities said.

Andrew Marks, 42, stopped a 14-year-old girl walking her dogs on May 7 and asked her "inappropriate questions about her feet" before driving away, Suffolk County police said in a news release.

The girl told police Marks said he worked in the fashion footwear industry and she could make $400 modeling sandals in his product line, Suffolk district attorney's office spokesman Bob Clifford said Thursday.

A week later, Marks stopped a 15-year-old girl, also walking her dog, police said. That girl told police he offered her money to model socks, took one of her shoes off and massaged her foot for about 10 seconds, Clifford said.

Both girls told police Marks asked them whether they liked to have their feet massaged and requested their telephone numbers, Clifford said.

Marks was found because police had a description of his car and a partial license plate number, police spokesman Officer Robert Boden said.

He was arrested Wednesday and arraigned Thursday on two counts of endangering the welfare of a child. He pleaded not guilty and was released on bail, his lawyer said.

"We believe he is not guilty, and we believe the facts are going to bear that out," defense attorney Amy Cobert Haber said.

She said she believed Marks worked in the women's clothing industry, but she didn't know where.

The lawyer has a solid case here. After all she believes he works in the women's clothing industry. I'd like to see the prosecutor beat that.

Yeah, as creepy as this is... and it IS creepy, he didn't do anything illegal. The bigger question is WHY did these girls let some random guy massage their feet?!? Especially they were creeped out enough by him to call the cops later on. this gets a serious WTF mate?!

fair enough... but then would you call the cops? Seems kinda backstabbing-ish if you ask me.

The article says he asked if they would like to have them massaged, not that he did it. And this is probably erring on the side of caution, if it is erring at all.

This just ocurred to me: If I found out my 15 year ol daughter allowed a strange guy to massage her foot, I would have to have a serious chat with her about what the fuck she was thinking. Followed by a grounding (only because you can't spank a 15 year old girl), followed by another father-daughter chat about stupidity, followed by another grounding. I would be PISSED!

You have obviously never seen my feet!

Totally kidding since mine are the oddest looking feet most people have had the displeasure of seeing. Gosh, I love sandal season!

ahhh... my signature topic pops up in the boards once again :D

I guess in England (the case I took the quote from) they are much more relaxed on feet touching.

So it might be weird to have a random stranger massage your feet, but should he be ARRESTED for that?

People are becoming more and more paranoid. Pretty soon, men won't be allowed to enter public buses or subways when a 15 year old girl is already there. God forbid, he might look at and/or talk to her.

but then again i think people who cut their fingernails in public should be arrested to.

What about life in prison for sucking toes? (http://www.pervscan.com/2003/07/24/toe-sucker-jailed-for-life/)

Shouldn’t there be a distinction between different levels of abuse, and a corresponding distinction for the severity of punishment?

No

Thanks for playing.

It's not the fetish that is disturbing, it's the involvement of minors.

He should find someone closer to his age or call an escort service.

This happened at Xavier awhile ago. They arrested some dude for trespassing for walking up to chicks and asking them to participate in a study where he would need to measure their feet.

As my grandmother always said; "There are allot of cooky people out there."
