A Frames "Black Forest" (Sub Pop) [features former members of Butthole Surfers, Scratch Acid and Cows]

Aqualung "Strange & Beautiful" (Columbia/RED Ink) [US-only release is a compilation of 2002's self-titled debut and 2004's "Still Life" albums from UK singer Matt Hales]

Brendan Benson "The Alternative to Love" (V2) [Michigan alt-rocker teams up with Tchad Blake for his latest release]

Bloc Party "Silent Alarm" (Vice) [slightly delayed US release of UK band's massively entertaining debut album]

Vic Chesnutt "Ghetto Bells" (New West) [Vic's 12th album features a some great guest work from Van Dyke Parks & former Lone Justice/Jayhawks member Don Heffington]

The Decemberists "Picaresque" (Kill Rock Stars) [Portland indie rockers release their third album. Features Petra Haden and Sean Nelson from Harvey Danger]

John Doe "Forever Hasn't Happened Yet" (Yep Roc) [former X frontman --- features Neko Case, Kristin Hersh, and Grant Lee Phillips]

Louis XIV "The Best Little Secrets Are Kept" (Atlantic) [swaggering debut full-length from San Diego band. Disc is labelled with a parental advisory sticker strictly for the artwork which features nudity. An alternate version with cropped cover and sanitized artwork is also available]

M.I.A. "Arular" (XL) [the most talked about debut album of the year finally gets released this week and it's a whopper. While not for everybody, this worldly hybrid of bhangra, dancehall, hip-hop, and house is one of my new favorites]

Moby "Hotel" (V2) [this one has no guest vocals and early mixed reviews, but the Chiacgo Tribune calls it 'a warm, lilting new-wave album that's his most intimate work yet']

Out Hud "Let Us Never Speak of It Again" (Kranky) [we haven't gotten this yet, but I'm looking forward to the song titled "Dear Mr. Bush, There Are Over 100 Words for Shit and Only 1 for Music"]

Prefuse 73 "Surrounded by Silence" (Warp) [features El-P, Ghostface Killah, Aesop Rock, GZA and more]

Queens of the Stone Age "Lullabies to Paralyze" (Interscope) (first album since the departure of bassist Nick Oliveri. features guest appearances from Shirley Manson, Brode Dalle, Mark Lanegan, and Billy Gibbons of ZZ Top. limited edition w/ dvd also available]

Radar Brothers "The Fallen Leaf Pages" (Merge) [Los Angeles trio return with their 4th full-length release, their first disc since 2002]

Rockethouse "Weapons of Mass Distortion" (Kanine) [formerly known as Aerial Love Feed, this debut full-length release finally collects ALL of your 97X faves onto one handy disc]

Shipping News "Flies the Fields" (Touch and Go) [the band that has become more than just a side project, this Louisville, Kentucky group features former members of Rachel's and June Of 44]

sundayrunners "sundayrunners" (Machine) [nationally distributed release of the band's debut disc]

Yo La Tengo "Prisoners of Love: A Smattering of Scintilliating Senescent Songs, 1985-2003" (Matador) [a career-spanning compilation available in specially priced double CD and limited edition triple CD formats!]

Don't forget Bloc Party too. This is definitely the biggest week for new releases in a while.

Thanks again for doing these, Shiv. Really helpful and appreciated. Got Aqualung, MIA, Bloc Party, and Out Hud on order. Strongly considering Decembrists and Louis XIV, but with the PSP launch tonight, money just became a little tight.
