It's a beautiful morning in Austin and I'll be headed over to the Blind Pig Pub with Bryan Jay shortly. The bands will be loading in and soundchecking early. We staked out the club last night (where we ran into WOXY listeners Matt & Steph who came into town *just* for the Lounge Live event) and it's got a really cool atmosphere and I think it will be a great place for today's event.

Yesterday was a very long day. We started getting ready for our travels before the sun came up. After a smooth flight from Cincy to Houston, we had a very full (and quite bumpy) connecting flight to Austin. We finally made it to our hotel and ventured off to pick up our badges. Almost two hours later it was dark outside but we finally made it through the line and were ready to rock.

We didn't take in too much last night. By the time we got our badges and then grabbed some dinner it was time to try and make a few shows. We did catch SMOOSH at 10pm and they were incredible. For two girls who are no older than 13, they played to a packed house and sounded really great. We ran down the street after that to see a little bit of TOM MCRAE's set before hauling ass clear across town to see our friends in PALOMAR. They played a couple of new songs (from an upcoming EP) and all the old faves were there too (Hello "Albacore"!). Their set was filmed by HD cameras for use on the HD-NET channel for all you high-tech indie rock geeks. :-)

We've gotta go and grab some breakfast and then head over to the club. Be sure to tune in this afternoon for the LOUNGE LIVE event! A full report will follow later tonight...

2:13 p.m. EST, just tuned in for your SXSW broadcast. Sounds great Shivvy! Can't wait to hear the rest of the week, it's nice to be able to hear it live (on a day when we should all be in pubs listening to good music anyway ;-).

Now that you're a pro at such things, maybe you'll broadcast from MidPoint Music Festival? Just a quick trip up 15 blocks (maybe less once venues are announced).

Teneras muchas divertidas en Tejas!
