I really like them. I got Songs for Polar Bears awhile back after hearing "100 Things You Should Have Done in Bed"
Haven't gotten their latest effort b/c I can't find it in a used bin.

Yeah, they are pretty cool. In the times when I get tired of WOXY, I tune into a BBC station in N.Ireland that plays similar types of music (with a UK spin, of course). The one DJ, whose opinion I respect very much, was going on and on and on about Snow Patrol and how great they were. But they were busy selling a max of like 40,000 copies of their CD, so he figured they would never be very big. Then, suddenly around the New Year, they had a song called "Run" go big over in UK and now they're selling out giant venues and such.
So yeah, point of my story is that they are a pretty cool band with a lot of potential, depending on how the labels treat them. But I really dig Spitting Games. That tune rocks.

They remind me a lot of Pedro the Lion, but without that wall of distortion that Pedro uses. Good stuff

I'm glad this thread was resurrected. I just got back from England today and they played snow patrol constantly. It was good though, except hey! i'm ahead of the game again... if only everyone listened to my recommendations.

I did, I did. The weather sucked my arse, but you know, and other than leaving a whole bag of expensive souvenirs in our tiny tiny rental car, it was a great trip. The highlight being our dinner the first night at this Indian restaurant (we stayed in hyde park). We came in, ordered, and this group of kids started arguing with the staff over how to make a dry martini. They served them martini and rossi dry vermouth only. Then there was a huge altercation ending with the waiter slapping one chap across the face., who then said he was going to go call the police.
Heelarious.

Just got in from a show in Columbus and after visiting used kids record store along with a place called singing dogs for the first time I picked up Snow Patrol's Final Straw for 3 measley dollars!
there are 12 tracks and besides the lack of liner notes(it was an advance copy) this disc is changing my thought patterns and world views
Hey saved where did you hear An olive grove facing the sea?

It's from their 2001 album "When It's All Over We Still Have to Clear Up". Hurts your heart.
