So, how can I get Woxy on XM? I heard someone mention it a couple weeks ago. Request it from you? Or request it from the XM people? Or is it not available yet?

True, but I do wholehardedly recommend XM for those times you aren't around the computer.
About 6 weeks ago I bought one of the ultra-portable Delphi MyFi and I'm very pleased with the radio itself as well as the service.

i'm telling ya, one way or the other you'll be able to walk down the street listening to woxy.com in realtime... probably on an iPod. :]
i saw this this morning:
Eastern Standard Tribe coming true?
A group of "radio pirates" in the US are making part of Eastern Standard Tribe come true:
Lynch, 31, is one of a handful of iPod owners using the device to transmit FM radio stations from their car. He uses a bumper sticker on the back of his fender that reads "iPod @ 89.1 FM" to let passers-by know how to tune in...
"I put on some profanity. Comedy, R-rated comedy, Chris Rock's early stuff. Then I called [his friend] up on his cell phone and he was two cars behind me. I said, 'You're not going to believe this, but somebody up here is broadcasting swear words! Tune to 89.1FM.' He turns to the station and he's like, 'I can't believe I'm hearing this!' It was a big joke for a few minutes."
Once a friend suggested using a bumper sticker to advertise the frequency on which he was transmitting, Lynch was off and running. He became his own mini-pirate radio station.
"For four car-lengths around me was this little bubble of — me! Whatever I wanted to listen to! So I could be listening to Chris Rock talking about dating and meeting women in a club and then the next song go straight to Neil Sadaka."

I agree totally. My wife bought me an XM Roady a month after WOXY went off the air. I bought her one a few months later. Makes driving in the car much more enjoyable.

If the iPod thing is true, you'd never see me w/out the headphones on. They'd become permanantly attached! :D
I also want to put my recommendation in for XM radio in the car. If it was possible to have WOXY stream in the car, well, then, no contest. But XM will do for now. It's perfect for me because I live in a town which is in the netherworld of bad radio, as someone here on the boards who's in the radio business will no doubt agree with me! ;)

First they WebSensed my woxy away at work. Then woxy went off the air. Had to get XM. Now, with the new website, I somehow get around WebSense at work. So, I have the choice of XM or woxy at work, and have XM in the car. I don't do commercials or self-important DJs.

Word. And, BAM, where else are you going to get Superchunk (Freaks in Charge) followed by Death Cab (World Shut Your Mouth). Dang, this radio station does it to me everytime. :D

I just purchased my XM Roady2 yesterday. I have been thinking about it for a few weeks. It is worth it.
I do enjoy listening to WOXY.COM at home when I can take a listen to it. Now I can choose my XM or WOXY.COM.
XMU (Channel 43) is more simular to WOXY.COM. They play the same music most of the time.
I thought I would get the XM Roady2 for my car. I hate driving to work listening to local morning radio DJ's. Most talk through the entire time driving to work or back. Plus, the annoying commercials. Also, we lost our good Modern Rock station to a Spanish radio station. Like we needed an extra Spanish radio station in El Paso? We have so many Spanish stations compare to rock stations, it is annoying.
I boycotted one local radio station cause the DJ is a "CENSORED". I cant stand the man.

Right now XM is having a special online for activation.. no fee for activating online. The price is going up in a few days, but its only a few dollars more. Also, you can listen online (like woxy.com) starting tomorrow (April).

If you do a comparison, I think you'll find that Sirius has higher quality programming than XM.

Whatever. I did the Sirius 3 day trial thing. After hearing the same thing all three days and a lot of dj chatter, I think XM was the right choice for me. For Me.
Here's the breakdown:
Sirius: more DJ talk.
XM: less DJ talk.
Either way, you can't lose. My experience with XM has been good. They play a lot of the same stuff that WOXY plays. So does Sirius. A co-worker has Sirius and loves it. No commercials. Bigger playlist.

i've heard rumors that eventually satellite radios will B compatible w/ either XM or Sirius (or any new service) depending on which service U purchase
personally i HATE the idea of being trapped into a specific service based upon the hardware - it would B a huge hassle 2 have 2 buy a brand new receiver just because i wanted 2 switch, say, from Sirius to XM - i want FREEDOM OF CHOICE (great Devo song!) w/ whatever receiver i buy
does anybody know anything about if &/or when this will B possible?
