There's not much music hitting stores this week. After you broke the bank with last week's new releases, that's probably for the best.

In stores Tuesday, February 1st:

*Brazilian Girls "Brazilian Girls" (Verve Forecast) [debut full-length release for the acclaimed NYC band]

*Coachwhips "Peanut Butter & Jelly Live at the Ginger Minge" (Narnack) [live release from San Fran rockers, follows up their "Bangers Versus Fuckers" disc]

*Ed Harcourt "Strangers" (Astralwerks) [Ed's 3rd full-length album gets its domestic release -- contains 1 US bonus track that was a b-side in the UK]

*Cass McCombs "PREfection" (Monitor) [2nd full-length release hits the US first, UK release follows on Feb 7th on the 4AD label]

*Various Artists "Chillout 06" (Nettwerk) [features Ulrich Schnauss, The Postal Service, Junior Boys, Ian Brown, and a rare Alpha mix of "Weekend" by The Perishers]

*Various Artists "Because of Winn-Dixie" soundtrack (Nettwerk) [features The Be Good Tanyas, The Finn Brothers, Emmylou Harris, and a collaboration between Adam Schlesinger & James Iha]

I've never really heard any Ed Harcourt. Is he worth checking out?

His first album "Here Be Monsters" is one of my faves. The second disc was not nearly as good, but this new disc really redeems him --- it's really damn good. You'll be hearing quite a bit of it beginning this week here at the station.

Absolutely. I love his new album, Strangers. You want me to send it to you??

My personal favorite track is "This One's For You."
