First of all, I want to make it clear that I really appreciate all the work that you guys put into this website. I spend a lot of time on the boards, and the webstream could be the only thing I'd listen to if only I could get it in the car. The criticisms I'm about to raise are meant only to be constructive.

That said, I'm having a few problems with the new look. I'm currently using Mozilla 1.4 in Linux, and the old board looked fine. The new board isn't rendering quite correctly, though. I haven't tried this with Mozilla or Firefox on Windows, but I'm guessing it'll be a similar situation, since the HTML/CSS renderer code is probably common between the two.

One of the problems only occurs when I increase the font size. I do that a lot because my eyes aren't that great and I find myself straining at the normal size. Here's a picture of the site at the normal font:

... And here's what it looks like when I bump up the font size by one step:

Note the yellow menu bar at the top - it's shifted over significantly. If I resize the window, it stays in the horizontal middle of the screen.

One last one. The new board is susceptible to "page-widening" if an excessive amount of text is put into the location field. This has been used by trolls in the past on sites like Slashdot to make the page unreadably wide, requiring the reader to scroll back and forth repeatedly, and it's really annoying. Here's a picture:

In lieu of testing the site on all browsers and looking at all font sizes, we went with the most popular settings based on industry standards and viewing the weblogs.

Hopefully we can resolve any conflicts as we refine the style.

Thanks for letting us know your browser, operating system and custom settings. This will aid the development process.

As for extra long text strings in the location field... that might take the kindness of users or a limitation of characters to solve.
