WOXY.COM: Whoa! Why does everything look different?

Welcome to the new look of woxy.com! We plan on rolling out many cool things in the comings months, and you're looking at the first step... a fresh face for woxy.com. Most everything is in the same place it was before, but you'll notice that the 5 most recently played songs and the links to tune in are integrated into the top of every page. I saw those... I was surprised that the selection isn't global. Instead, I have to select 'light' or 'dark' on each (non-boards) page.

The image at the top of the screen (it is a mixing board with 'light') is certainly different in 'dark'.

Any plans to provide an alternate background for the boards, or will the only option be the wood paneling?

The boards operate on a different style system, but hopefully to bring a "dark" version is entirely possible.

I like it! It'll take a little getting used to since I've been looking at the last version for the last few years. But I really like it. I do. I'm a sucker for lime green and wood paneling.

The only thing I don't like is the choppiness while scrolling up and down between posts. It's not smooth like it was before.

the layout is an impovement, i think... but i've got to agree with noonan on this one. i spent a week prying fake wood paneling off of my house. for some reason, the crowbar's not working on my monitor though...

on the "changes you'd like to see" thread, a number of people posted to Bryan that they liked the old 'look'. this new one really is too bright. change is good--sure, but a black background with white letters is much easier look look at. god, now i feel like i'm doing word processing...

the layout is an improvement, but the 'look': too damn bright. :[

Hey, for those of you who miss the dark background. I just noticed that on the rest of the site, except the boards it seems, you can change the background from the light colored wood paneling to a grey sound proofing. At the bottom of the page there are "light" and "dark" buttons.

I haven't signed on since Thursday and WOXY is set as my homepage. I signed on today and was immediately scared to death because I thought my homepage was changed. I live alone, and I thought someone had broken into my apartment.

But then....my brain started functioning and I realized thieves usually steal things, not just come in and give you a new homepage on your pc. Maybe ninja's or pirates, but no common theif.

I love the new look. But, it's definitely going to take some time to get used to.

Just an FYI, not sure if anything can be done about this or not, but in Firefox on XP if you go to the front page and increase the font size by hitting ctrl and + then the images overlap and it looks funky.

Yeah, change every now and then is refreshing. I agree with c-lando. I didn't realize I wanted a change, but in hindsight, it was getting tired, and time for somethin new.
This is certainly more cheerful. It's not so hard on my eyes (but ask me again after 3 hours of posting. :))

Bryan, this is absolutely badass. Did you do all the web design or did you have some outside assistance? I did notice the use of CSS, which is great.

The only thing I don't like is the vertical layout of the new boards and the yahoo smileys.

Edit: Found one small error at the store in dark mode. Seeing the type of error it is, I'm assuming it happens in other areas of the site as well.

Since I can't see very wellundefinedundefined, I have my resolution set low and text siezes at large. Right now, almost all the text on this site is jumbled up, over-lapping. I get this problem with a lot of sites, and I end up just not reading them, since making things smaller is out of the question.
Any suggestion?
