Next week, join activists from all over the country and around the world in telling Forest Pharmaceuticals to DROP HLS!

Forest pays vivisection company Huntingdon Life Sciences (HLS) to conduct disgusting, unscientific ‘tests’ on puppies, rabbits, rodents, and primates. This unnecessary torture of animals not only causes the death of 500 animals everyday - it gives inaccurate results. Forest Pharmaceutical’s products are not even safe for humans.

The Cincinnati Animal Defense League will be holding demonstrations outside of Forest’s office everyday next week. The office is at 3941 Brotherton Rd. Cincinnati, OH 45209.

Monday (12/13): Noon-1pm
Tuesday (12/14): 3pm-4pm
Wednesday (12/15): Noon-1pm
Thursday (12/16): 3pm-4pm
Friday (12/17): Noon-1pm

Please try to make it to at least one demonstration next week. There will be similar demonstrations happening at Forest offices all over the world. The animals locked in cages inside the labs at HLS are counting on us, and together we can defeat vivisection! If you can't make it to any demonstrations, visit www.forestkills.tk for a list of phone numbers to call throughout the week.

“Today I had to say goodbye to all the dogs in study 3274. They will be killed this week - some of them on Christmas Eve. I'm trying to think of something remarkable I could write about them one last time. But, there's nothing too remarkable about being locked in a two-foot cage for one full year - getting lonelier and crazier and sicker as the days drag by. I'm telling myself I'm glad for them. Glad they finally get the release death will bring. What I really think is it's just not right. Not right they will die without ever being loved.”
- Michelle Rokke, undercover diaries inside HLS.

World Scientists Admit They Just Don't Like Mice (http://www.theonion.com/news/index.php?issue=4049&n=1)

Sorry, couldn't help myself.

Really, I think experimenting with animals is disgusting. I don't see how any dog or cat lover could look into their eyes and say they don't have a soul. It breaks my heart to think that companies really do this.

I don't live in the Cincinnati area, but I hope you do get a lot of support on this one.

This week, Dec. 13-19, is World Week Against Forest Laboratories, and there are demonstrations going on all over the U.S. and in the U.K. Do your part by helping with the phone blockade on Forest's toll-free numbers. Pick an hour block each day to call during business hours (8-5), and make a call every time you pass a payphone (do not use your home phone). Talking isn't necessary if you wish to remain anonymous, and beeping noises can be fun if you get bored with silence. Every call you make to these toll-free numbers costs them money, and the more time you spend on the phone is less time Forest spends with their customers. Let's give 'em hell.

Most important number: 1-800-947-5227 New York, NY

If that number is tied up, here are alternates:
1-800-285-5227 Commack, NY
1-888-636-9888 Farmingdale, NY
1-888-324-7870 Hauppauge, NY
1-800-678-1605 St. Louis, MO

For information about demonstrations happening in Cincinnati, Ohio, visit http://www.forestkills.tk or email ohioar@riseup.net. To learn about the international campaign to close Huntingdon Life Sciences, check out http://www.shacamerica.net.

I didn't see any contacts for the group in the San Francisco Bay Area?

Yosh, do you know of any group that is organizing in the SF Bay Area (it's much closer to here than Cincy)?

Forest has offices near LA but not in San Fran. You can help out by calling the numbers listed above a lot.

If you can make it, please come to the demonstration tomorrow. Every demonstration, email, and phone-call brings us that much closer to shutting down HLS and stopping the death of 500 animals a day.

Noon-1pm: 3941 Brotherton Rd. Cincinnati, OH 45209

If you can't come, give Forest a call and let them know you don't agree with their use of animal testing. Phone numbers can be found at www.forestkills.tk
