McCain Warns MBL: Get Tough on Steroids (http://www.dailystar.com/dailystar/relatedarticles/13362.php)
<snippet>
WASHINGTON - Sen. John McCain told the baseball players' union Wednesday that Congress will step in unless the union agrees to toughen the sport's steroid-testing rules.
The Senate Commerce Committee chairman challenged union head Donald Fehr to accept a far more stringent drug-testing policy, such as the NFL's.
Fehr said he could not agree to changes in the collective bargaining agreement.
"Your failure to commit to addressing this issue straight on, and immediately, will motivate this committee to search for legislative remedies," warned McCain, an Arizona Republican.
Wow. I thought steroids were already illegal. Do we really need Congress spending their time on legislating baseball? I am glad that our country is doing so well that the only primary legislative concern remaining is the national pastime. I must have been napping while all the other issues were resolved.
